  • @AntonioMusicBoy Yeah, this is a very typical song here on Brazil!!! It has to be shown at the movie!!!

  • This version is crap. The original Song was PERFECT. The Blackeyed Peas destroyed this song with your rap or hip hop intervention. If the Blackeyed Peas want to make a "cover" from any BRAZILLIAN SONG must to make a REAL EFFORT or minimun SING IN BRAZILLIAN PORTUGUESE. = Esta versión es basura.

  • @Gigglez765 SAME!

  • This was the best song back in 1968 and always had that Brazilian Flavor and hot!

  • What a exelent song!

  • i love that song !! (: good !

  • People, the real meaning is "Come on", not "More than nothing"...

If it were "More than nothing", it would be written and sang "mais que nada"...There is a difference: "mais" with the "i" means "more", "mas" without the "i" means "but ".

"Mas que nada" is an expression here in Brazil, it's almost "come on" in english...(You say that when you desagree or not believe with something)

I believe you are making a confusion with Spanish...

  • Comment removed

  • @VivianAggio Yes, I think you´re right. Excelent explanation. And, of course, it´s a great song. "más que nada (para)" in spanish means "in order to".

  • yea but this isnt spanish its portugese so yea...

  • Sorry, you are right....My english is not very good and sometimes I make mistakes when I type fast.

  • Well said, @VivianAggio . I agree with you!

  • @VivianAggio you're right ,they are making confusion with spanish.

but that's because they think that here in south america every single country speaks the same language.

  • @VivianAggio it's called noth american respect for other language.

  • @VivianAggio

    e isso, amigo !

    obrigado de ter explicado

( that's right my friend, and thank you for explaining :-)

  • @ESMUSIC2010

    de nada!

  • @VivianAggio thank you! i study portuguese but i'am italian :D

  • samba brasileira <3

  • @VivianAggio for us mexicans and cubans ''mas que nada'' is 'more than nothing' but that depends what latin country your in cause they all have many things in difference i know cause im cuban-american-mexican

  • @gsimth I'm from Brazil, and in portuguese, "mas" means "but" in english.

  • @gsimth I'm from Brazil, and in portuguese, "mas" is the same that "but" in english. "Mas que nada", in spanish, really means "more than nothing", but in portuguese it's an expression, like "come on"...La traducción literal del "mas que nada" del portugués para el castellano sería "pero que nada"...

  • @VivianAggio and if its writin ''mais'' that means corn in english

  • @gsimth No..." mais" (portuguese word) means "more" in english...."Maíz", a spanish word, means "corn" in english.

  • @VivianAggio Finally, someone who really understands it!

  • @VivianAggio hey do u know this song lyrics on youtube in portuegese or in brazilian language, cuz i wanna learn it

  • @Sanseven73 Hi! Is in portuguese from Brazil!!

and now is my favorite again LOL!

  • oooooooooohhhhhhh i really love this songggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • BANGIN SONG

  • !!! Excelente......mais grande do mundo...!!

  • Forget the lyrics, it is so unimportant, listen to that beat, I defy anyone listening to this track not to tap their feet!!

Even better as the Nike Brazillian team airport sound track - watch the video and you will see what I mean, footie with a samba beat.

  • Why are you fighting at all. That´s so stupid. About what mais que nada or mas que nada means?? Doesn´t matter!!!!

  • Cubs

  • look,"mas que nada" means "more than nothing" trust me,i'm brazilian,i know! ;D

  • WOW yall fightin over a stupid thing but yall wrong! theres a HUGE difference in the meaning of MAS nd MAIS! ¬¬ MAS QUE NADA its just a brazillian slang nd it can mean lots of different stuff depending on where do u say it... nd to be MORE THAN NOTHING it would be MAIS que nada.. yall fight 4 stuff u dont even noe ¬¬

  • you dumb fucks mas que nada means more than nothing!

  • red sox!

  • please make more music with sergio mendes!

  • love the song!

  • i like this song...hahaha stop arguing and enjoy the music

  • ok, egyptsoccerfan,

    #1-i'm 100% brazilian

#2-mas que nada means 'more than anything', so get a dictionary

#3-only trans;late stuff when u know both languages

    #4-have a nice day :)

  • dude mas que nada means "no way" u need a dictionary haha i was born in brazil nd both parents r brazilian vc precisa un dictionary

  • o i get wat ur saying it does mean dat but joe means no way or come on i forget

  • Even Sergio Mendez has said Mais Que Nada means "Come on"

    Your poruguese is terrible

  • Your portugese is obviously bad because you can't even spell it, twat.

Secondly, It's BRAZILIAN, trust the brazilian. It means "more than nothing" My music teacher said it too.

  • Mas Que Nada means More Than Nothing, not Come On!!!!!!! Believe me, I speak Portuguese.

  • @IrinaGoldenAgefan no im Brazilian and i know it means come on , is some sort kind of slang ,belive me portuguese is our language i know what it means.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • trust me this one is much better than the Original

  • Us Brazilians like me say this is an original Samba song. They remixed it with Hip Hop. My Father is from Egypt. and my mom is from Brazil. I am from USA. They immigrated

  • Are you comparing your life to this song. Is your father the original Samba? Is Egypt Samba? Is Brazil like Hip Hop? I'm trying to understand your point. So USA immigration is like a remix. Yes?

  • shut up your no fun lol

  • you shut up. You know my name! Remember that.

  • somebodys getting mad lol

  • I'm not getting mad, I'm just blah blah blah blah

  • Mas que nada means No way in Brazilian portugese.

  • love them

  • i like the part that they speak portugeese !

  • how come this song's so edited?

  • Some of the song is missing. Like when the "mas que nada" part starts the rest of that part of the song is missing.

    NUNCA

  • Yes :) Im from Brazil my self, though i live in Norway ;p Brazil is the only Country in South-America who speak Portuguese. The rest speaks spanish. Anyway, nobody can resist samba :) Its 10% music, 10% dance, and 80% love <3 :)

  • what's samba? sorry that's probably a stupid question ^.^

  • haha wat a qestion LOL LMAO its brazilian music weell it southamerica music ;)

  • lol sorry ;) I knew it would be stupid!! but I didn't know.

  • errbody samba...i love this song...yea it does sound alike...i live in madrid and my friends are from brasil and i basically understand them because i know spanish

  • they are speaking portuguese not spanish:S:S

    i'm portuguese:P

  • But portuguese and spanish are so alike.. i lived in spain for like ten months.. and i think it is.. very alike ;)

  • yeahhh you right...we have some words that sounds the same...well i think portuguese people can undestand spanis people, but idk if spanish people can understand us...

  • well actually we can understand some of the things you say but they are not as alike as not people think

  • I live in Lisbon and have many Spanish friends. It takes very little effort (though a bit effort is still required) for them to understand or even speak Portuguese. The reason this may sound a bit more off is it's Portuguese as spoken in Brasil (Sergio Mendes), which differs a bit from Portuguese as spoken in Portugal.

  • You really don't know about what you are talking about. Ridicullous. If you don't know, just don't speak.

  • nikka i no wat im talkin bout do u no wat u waz talkin bout portuguese iz broken spanish if u dont believe me go learn dumb azz nikka

  • What's the original one if it's the remix?
