what's the name for the technique of where you blow on the flute to make that "wind blowing" type sound. Like- they are playing notes, but not sounding them fully. Just wondering what's written in the score.
Wonder if you mean harmonics - whispering into the flute to give harmonics. Otherwise, it's almost a jazz articulation which uses a lot of air. Maybe we should call it "wind-blowing" as you suggest. If you wind-blow and voice the note at the same time - you get Jethro Tull (rock, jazz effect).
