As a superheated liquid is heated in a sealed container, pressure from the gas above increases until the liquid and gas states merge into a new state as a supercritical fluid which appears more like a gas. But I cannot imagine the destruction if this glass container burst in the hot oil.

Yes, but notice the wall thickness! OD is 4 mm ID is 2 mm. So, calculated burst pressure is something like 200 bar!
