I know that this is a old video and that you have already found out.

The power on chime (bong) is in the hardware and not in the OS, but if you mute or turn down the volume all the way while in the OS it will make the chime (bong) do the same. I own a Digital Audio G4 so i know that no version of OS X disables the chime (bong) on power up unless you adjust the volume all the way down.

you have to connect the power (a standard pc cable), the vga monitor (a pc one), usb mouse and keyboard and thenetwork (standard ethernet)

dose any know how to install leopard on my new G4 with a blank hard drive? its a Power Mac G4 Dual 867Mhz, 1Gb of ram, 120 Hard drive etc. i just don't know how to install the OS if it dosnt have a OS already. LEOPARD IS THE FULL VERSION.

insert the install dvd, reboot it and hold keep pressing the "c" key until the apple logo appears, then follow the steps to install.

i got a question about upgrades my current g4 specs are. 500mhz sawtooth 1gb ram 80 gig hdd dvd-rom ati-rage pro 10.4.9 which is the faster processor? 1.2ghz owc 2meg cache 7455b or 1.6ghz newertech 512k cache 7447a

go with the 1.2ghz or if you can afford $40 more then go with the 1.5ghz proc.

the newertech may be "faster" but the 7455 makes up for it in the 2mb cache and is cheaper :D

Hey guys I have a question. Ive been working on pc's for 10+ years. I acquired a Powermac Mirror G4 1.4GHz. It turns on but I dont get no video. Ive tried replacing almost everything, Ram,Video, unplugged all drives and still nothing. I dont even get the apple tone when powering up. someone said to reset the pmu and I did that and still nothing. Any mac help would be greatly appreciated.

yes, you can upgrade your ZIF processor. the maximum speed is a 1GHz G4. another choice is a 1GHz G3 or 550MHz G4.
