Imagine if solar was placed on the roof of every home and linked together ...I think people would be getting paid from the energy companies and it would energize a grid sustainable to electric vehicles.

I'm stunned that the solar panel doesn't top off the battery, at least for the 9 months of cooler weather,

Apparently 59W isn't enough to charge the high voltage battery. That, and there was some sort of RF interference while the car was in operation (think giant antenna).
