  • In holland you can find too much stuff of puch maxi's. Maybe for more speed you should try 70cc.

  • thank you for all your great vids, travis. they've really helped me get a better understanding of my moped.

did you ever swap the 12mm for the 14mm carb? my maxi is a '78 2hp single speed version, 14mm carb and the rest bone stock. thanks to your vid, im going to order a puch proma underbody exhaust. do you have any advice on jet size and air intake for this setup?

seems like the proma underbottom is the ideal choice for city riding with a single speed moped, plus no pedal clearance issues.

  • @modmon

    Hey, glad they could help!

Yeah I like the design of the proma pipe too. As far as a jet size, unfortunately I can't give any advice on that since every bike is different and there are a ton of factors to go by. However, I should have a tuning video up in about 3 weeks that goes through the entire process of jetting/plug chops. In the meantime on the moped army wiki the articles "upjet" and "jetting basics" are a good read. Thanks for watching

  • i modified my stock fender to accept the gazelle. it's tight, but interference free. where in pennsylvania do you live? i'm about 30 minutes east of pittsburgh

  • Nice bike! I got a puch maxi KL :) And i love it!! But it's a complete original moped. Because here in Denmark is it illegal to do any perfomance changes.... So it's only legal to drive 30 kmph.. And it's also illegal to sit two on a moped!! It really sucks! But is this legal in the US? Keep up the good work, and i would love to see some more moped vids :)

  • NICE BIKE!!! :D I also have a puch maxi like yours. i think it is 1978, but im not sure. You have any tips to get go faster without performance parts? Here in Norway it is illegal to drive a moped with any performance parts, and i want to drive legal. Your puch videos inspired me to get my puch on the road again. You have any internett sides, i can get cheap puch parts on?

  • @MrMovieButcher

Glad they've helped! If I ever get my hands on another Maxi, I want to see how fast I can get it to go using only stock parts, the bolt on performance parts I used are the easy way out so to speak. If you google "Derestricting a Puch Maxi exhaust" the first link shows a pretty cool pipe mod using the stock exhaust.

For parts, I use a combination of treatland and 1977mopeds. You can google both of those names and get to the sites, YouTube is against links in comments.

  • @MrMovieButcher Here in norway you can drive over 60 km/t with your moped :)) Because if the moped is older than 1999 can you drive over 60 :D

  • @TehWeekZ Yeah, i know! But you cant have any performance parts on it, and a puch, dont want to go faster that 60 km/t orignal! ;)

  • Did you alter the bike from 1.5 to 2 HP? I have a 1977 Puch Maxi and want to know if this is possible/easy to do.

  • @volaci0us

With the parts availability for the e50 almost anything is possible. You can see the differences between the 1.5hp and 2hp models if you google "Puch horsepower differences". I'd post a link right to the MopedArmy Wiki but YouTube doesn't allow links in comments.

  • wrealy nice moped, greetings from belgium
