You don't need the CD notes to tell you its Robert Jr playing on this (and on scores of other great Sonny Boy II tracks for that matter) ~ those licks and turnarounds coud not be any damn one else! Such immortally great recordings; some of the greatest music of the 20thC of ANY genre.
"My teeth and tongue begin to fight..." - also stated on "I'm a lonely man"..what was his obessession? What a great artist and creator of soul music..God Bless.
I really can't inderstand what gives more fine feelings the way the artist makes music or who is better or worst ?? Dont't play games on me man,my brother and I saw him alive with other Great Bluesmen and Women who are in Bluesheaven now.
The way they made music just gave you a thrill deep in your soul and tears just comes up for the same reason, the hard labourship, discrrimination and hard way of living maded them en he as Heroes,Blues Heroes
I agree.. Another senseless batlle for the answer to a question that has know relevance. Who is the better artist? Art is in the soul of the provider. Your opinon in it's own way is art, the art of criticism. So who is right? Everyone. The only exception to that ruleis when the critic has not investigated their comentary and is basing their facts purely on opinion. Thus creating.. prejudice or just plain bullshit. Peace be wit you,
I think both of them deserve recognition for their work and music. After all they are too unequal in what they do and what they represent to be compared in a performance.oriented way. Both of them touch and move me in their own distinctive way, which puts them on equal levels for me. Their some real bad cats.
Jon Lee Curtis Williamson is the real deal. Its so difficult getting his cds in Nigeria. Youtube is no help either... so few of them, Alec Miller is a mere shadow of this Awesome fellow that crammed so much into his short life. Please any one with links to sites where I can get some of his works would do me a great service. damianoyibo@yahoo.com

According to the CD notes, there were two guitar players on this particular recording: Robert Lockwood and Luther Tucker.

Yup, it would be like saying that Beethoven was better than Chopin. Comparing their work is just unnecessary. Simply because they both have no match.
