  • What is the song called, i love it ?

  • @dbith Hoppipola by Sigur Ros - although I shortened it quite a bit.

  • this is awesome!

  • As much as I love aviation and the cutting edge of technology these war machines are waste of money.

  • True, but while they keep making them, I'll keep watching them!

  • Can't wait! I'm going this Sunday!!

  • Hope you have a good day. We've just got back from the Saturday show. Although not quite up to some of previous years, was still a great day. Hope the weather holds out for you!

  • Thanks man, just got back! Was my first time and I can honestly say that watching those f16s, f18s and typhoons go overhead and hearing the earth trembling sound vibrate through me was one of the best experiences of my life! The weather was a bit crappy but it was an amazing experience and I can't wait till next year!

  • Hi Ben, glad you enjoyed it. Check out my Vulcan and RIAT highlight footage in HD to remind you. Maybe see you there next year!

  • I already watched it, that plane is my dads personal favorite! Really maneuverable for such a big thing!

  • What is this song. Video is 5/5 great job

  • Hi, thanks for that. The song is an edited down version of Hoppipola by Sigur Ros, an Icelandic band. Cheers

  • Undoubtably the best airshow in the world.

  • It just goes to show guys that film making is about you - not the camera and whether its gots HD and all that crap. Casablanca wasn't shot on HD was it? Stop blaming the tools and just go out and produce great stuff like this. More screaming planes please. And I'd really like a shot of a blackbird doing Mac3 :-). PS Got my latest film shortlisted for Best Director at Portobello (700 films were submitted - I shot it on my XM2. Total budget? £100.

  • Still can't get over this vid =D

Shame bout 2008, I was there though.. saw the queen, present new colours and 90th anniversary..

If those of you dont know why RIAT was cancelled, we were practicly swimming in mud. We had toe atleast 100 vehicles outa the mud and that took long enough without the public adding to it :/

But i still got some decent vids of aircraft

  • I realised something was wrong when we arrived at Kempsford campsite. From then on it went downhill!

  • :/ sorry to hear mate... lol if im thinking of the correct place then you were fairly near to us cadets and we were swimming in filth.. I've got some pictures i might put up at some time.

  • I was going to do a better version of this for 2008, new camera, final cut studio, new mac. Oh well, there's always 2009...

  • 1:19- 1:20m was why I gave this 5 stars. You can here the engines screaming. Awesome shots. Was this with the XM2?

  • If you like that, you'll like my Red Arrows video, shot like this one on an old Sony TRV 320e single chip cam which I think is the next best thing to a TRV 900. The Red Arrows vid is much sharper and steadier than these and converted to slow motion in Final Cut. Thanks for the comments! Providing we don't get flooded on Saturday I'll have more soon, shot on my XM2 eBay bargain.

  • Shot this on an ageing Sony digital 8 camera that I really love. Didn't get chance to use the Canon!

  • Anyone going to Kempsford Camping this year?

  • Awesome video!

I booked the tiket on sunday 13th July this year, but I'm worrying about if I can see all of the aircrafts one by one just in one day...

  • Wow, nice video. See you there 2008

    ATC

    Squardron 785

  • Keep up the good work guys!

  • Very nice video. Were you shooting hand held or with a tripod? And the encode onto Youtube is very clean, do you know what file settings you uploaded? I'll have to start work on my Thunderbirds over Fairford Video now!!

  • Shot this handheld, I use a Mac these days so that I can use either Final Cut Pro or iMovie as bundled with the Mac. Best encoding for this is using Quicktime H.264, high quality, frame reordering, multipass, 320x240. This worked out at about 20Meg filesize.

Next year a fluid head tripod I think! Too much pain!

PS Take a look at my Red Arrows done at 40% original speed - almost gets rid of any camera shake.
