  • how come the customers dont quarantine their fish before going into the display tank?

  • hey J, i quarantine the fish myself for two weeks+ for the customers. I make sure they are eating and have been treated with copper based medications. still, not all do well. I still have the Imperator, Anularis and Rock Beauty plus a Flame, Lemonpeel and BiColor in this tank.

  • @lafishguy ahhhh gotcha... ya im starting out my first saltwater tank so ive been doing alot of reading and watching your videos..... and they say quarantine EVERYTHING so i just didnt know if you just did it off camera

  • wow

  • Hey man. Sick looking tank.

  • ok then..just take care...no offence...but the viewers might nt be so carefull

  • there are spines AT THIER GILLS ..PLEASE DONT USE HANDS

  • hey P, I am aware of the cheek spines but i have been doing this for 25 years and I think I know what I am doing.

  • awesome vid great job more plz

  • hey Jim, love the work you do on youtube. I wanted to ask you, I have a 2 and half inch empeor angel fish. What the time frame for them to change. Got a little yellow in him, that it. Had him for a year, keep up the great work.

  • hey J, its not really a time frame as it is more of a need to define himself. the change is to signify Adult from Juvenile, and its qued by competition.

  • do u ever do water changes? what do u do about cleaning the sand?

  • hey X, seek out Episode #36

  • W, thats exactly what happened.

  • could you imagine if as you were lifting the emperator angle into the tank she jumped out of you hand and down into the overflow box. that would be an episode in itself!

  • hey W, I've actually had situations like this occur in the past. just 2 weeks ago the LH Cowfish jumped into the overflow, a few years back a Harlequin Tusk jumped behind a tank.

  • but could you imagine trying to get it out of this tall tank that has like no room above it. haha

  • hey jim i need your help... i saw a acrylic cylinder tank in my local petshop. its about 150 gallons, but it does not have any filter or coral sculpture. i was wondering would i be able to put a saltwater filter on the top in wich most of the freshwater aquariums have hanging on the side?????

  • hey Y, a power filter would look pretty chezzy hanging off the side of a cylinder tank.

  • yeah i know but would it do the job. i can then later put a fake rock sculptue as a decoration to conceal it.

  • hey i have a 45 gallon aquarium with a foxface a yellow tang and 2 clowns ( i know my tank is small for a tang ) and im going to be getting corals when i get the correct lighting to house them but i need to know what supplements are for corals like do they come in the salt you add to the tank or do you need to buy them.

  • hey C, i am a Keep It Simple ( KIS ) hobbyist, so I just use a Calcium Supplement and rely on water changes. you should do further research though.

  • k will do and thanks for the help p.s. awesome videos

  • Overpopulation, Jim.

  • HEY C, NO ITS NOT!

  • couldn't the fish get damaged by holding it with your bare hand

  • hey G, i actually think its less stressful on the fish than using a net. Angels have gill spikes that always get caught in the net and then you have to un-hook them.

  • He dose everything properly. Never takes short cuts, and explains what needs to be done.

  • i didnt know there was a such fish called the Blue King Angel Fish

  • Another great video.

That tank is great, I'm guessing this, was the sculpture made specifically for that tank. It looks lovely!

  • amazing tank looks justlike something you would see in a larg aquarium like the atlanta or montery bay aquarium great vidios

  • Doesn't this tank get taken down in one of your later episodes?

  • hey N, yes it did, in a previous episode. this is the finished product.

  • Thats a shame, that is an awesome tank.

  • what he ment is it did get taken down but also got put back up! this is it now. If i remember correctly it had a chip or scratch or something and the manufacturer had to change it. :0) 100% awesome tank
