shamana tanking is indeed a sport. shamans may not be the most practical tank, but if you live on a small server that's hurting for tanks u can farm hundreds of badges tanking heroics and karas as i have for my shaman. i have a t5 bear tank that i bring to t5 and t6 raids, but i leave the heroics and karas to my shaman. I have a reputation on my server as a tank that's main tanked almost everything in kara, and rips through heroics in 45min (assuming the dps/heals are okay)
Druid, as I was gonna say earlier before running out of letters, is Jack of all trades and master of none (the best tree how ever has to be resto) they can dps (caster), but not as good as a lock or mage, they can tank, but not as good as a warrior or paladin, they can also heal, but not as good as a priest or a paladin, why you ask? Master healers can ress people, druid cannot, once an hour doesn't count even if combat ress is pretty awsome and can be a life saver.

Frost shock isn't as effective as growl :) I'm not saying a T6 shaman couldn't tank vrs T4 dps'ers and healers but, its not very effective :) I wish Blizzard would get their facts straight about the shaman class in their discription of the class, cause as I stated, they are not "Jack of all trades, master of none" in anyway possible. if the totem taunt effect gave the shaman all the aggro then yes, maybe, but its doesn't so... I would say you could probably do the same with several other classes (specd right) if you got 2 good healers on you and you dpsers can drop agro when needed
anticipation and toughnesh ...take a shield (from nightbane :P ) and if you are JC make the epic trinket for defence. use some head enchants from Keeper of Times and have more than 11k hp with pvp armor get a resto druid and a back up healer and you are ok.
that's the point u don't spec in that lol..

sounds really fun. ima warrior and know how hard is to tank with high geared ppl that hard but that with a taunt. no taunt, scary
