Rory Gilmore is a very childish, naive person. Like a toddler losing interest in their old toy when something shiney passes. Though she may not realize this, it's still not a healthy minset. If this were real life, I would shake her until common sence and decency had returned.

Rory wasn't jealous of her artsy friend dating Marty because she already knew he had (and has) feelings for her, and she was already dating an unattainable man. Yes, Rory had chemistry with Logan, but she was hooked because of their compatibility and the fact she was already dating someone. Everybody wanted Logan, and the thrill of dating Dean had worn off. He was no longer attached, and nobody was reprimanding her for dating him anymore.

Tristan obviously wanted her when she was dating Dean, so she didn't care for his affections. She could've had him anytime she wanted. Rory wasn't dating anyone when when she met Marty, and nobody was dating him, so the taboo factor wasn't there. He wasn't interesting in that sort of way and no one was there to tell her hands off. He was her first real guy friend, and if Dean hadn't been around, they probably would've developed a healthy relationship.

In my opinion, Rory Gilmore is childishly selfish. Yes, she truely cared for these men, but her unknown logic at the beginning was cruel and self-absorbed. When she learned she was leaving for another scholl, suddenly this new 'bad boy' comes to town and everybody thinks he's no good. She wants him. Jess, the real bad boy comes to town, she has a boyfriend, and everybody says back off. She wants him. Dean gets a new girlfriend, she doesn't like her. They get married, Rory wants him more.

i loved logan and jess.... jess understood her more but i feel like that wasnt enough. i lovvvve jess but logan made rory who she was and completed her. with dean she was to young and naive, tristan she never liked him, jess, love at first sight, marty, just a good buddy and logan love forever! i think rory will always love jess but also, in away jess kindof perpare rory for logan....its not that i like logan better its just what i feel from watching the show, that she loves logan!

Jess (I wish they would have gotten another chance)

Logan (I loved them in the fifth season)

Tristan (so much untapped potential)

Dean (I used to LOVE them together)

Marty (he was more of a friend)
