@9erfandex Hey StonedSquirelStudios Sorry for the snafu concerning your You Tube moniker, I guess it was the misspelling of squirrel that threw me! At least, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Anyway, SonedSquire has a nice ring to it! Thanks again for the upload, this puppy still smokes over 40 yrs. after the fact!
Sounds great... if you listened to music in the 60s and missed this song you can now enjoy a great one via you tube this is one of my favorites on a fall or winters day play it along with simon and garfunkels fakin it or hazy shade of winter and all your worries will seem miles away.....thanks for posting this great song....
This is an example of what makes you tube a world treasure. This song is truly a masterpiece. Thank you for making it available. It is a shame that more folks haven't found this video. It's wonderful.
Bruce Woodley co wrote 3 songs with Paul Simon..this one .. Red Rubber Ball and Cloudy while Paul was in London before S&G took off....he had problems getting his royalties and he is not credited for Cloudy on the Parsley Sage etc album
Really lovely, quite poetic, a song that can distill the essence of the '66 and '67 time window. Paul Simon helped to write some of the Cyrkle's material and Bruce Woodley of the Seekers also helped co-write "Cloudy." The Cyrkle toured with the Beatles and the Ronettes in the summer of '66. Sony Music released a fabulous collection of Cyrkle songs on the Columbia Legacy label, a total of 18 selections entitled "Red Rubber Ball - A Collection." This is simply some of the finest music around!
The Cyrkle and their Neon album were completely overlooked. It's great to find this stuff with other people discovering it too, for the first time like me!
Thanks for posting. I'd completely forgotten about this song in the 40+ years since high school. This is one of the best "lonely teenager" songs ever recorded. The comment suggesting it was a collaboration with Paul Simon makes sense; certainly has "The Dangling Conversation" sound to it.
Wow ! You got my message! Hey Stoned Squirel, thanks for posting this great song. I used to play the 45rpm of this in 1967, in upstate NY during the snowy winter there. Still got that record but I'm looking for something to play it on. Thanks again!
try a crosley traveler. i have one and i love it. the retro-ness is perfect for playing my favorite LP, "Red Rubber Ball". The Cyrkle really helps with the day to day hell that is middle school
I knew I was gonna like The Cyrkle as soon as I heard Turn Down Day, but now this song and some others makes me LOVE them!! So groovy.

"The winter's gonna last a long time this year.
I've got lots of empty time to kill.
I wish you could be here."
I'm betting a lot of songwriters would kill to have written that final verse.

The stuttering bass guitar sounds like it was inspired by McCartney's "Paperback Writer."

Love hearing a bass used as lead guitar.
