Now In america when the 1950s were over with white people start building new houses in different areas and before they move to their new homes they left a huge mess in their old homes and they start selling it to black people. Thats when people start calling it the ghetto.

i love going to the ghetto! you get the best miso in china town, and the best parmasean cheese in little italy. my grandma always says, we dont live in the ghetto, the ghetto is where the Jews were sent in natzi germany. she is correct, thought words adapt and change to fit a new situation. to me ghetto = abbrasiveness. mean, angry for no reason your willing to fight. its the stupid "hood" mentality that my male cousin keeps repin'. its being close minded and ignorant on purpose.
I fully agree with you...I work with some people that really irritate me lol simply because they don't see an issue with the way they talk & I am sure they didn't talk like that to get the job--so why be fake--if you can act proper enough for a job interview then there is no excuse as to why you can not act that way all the time!

The earliest ghettos where places where the Jews were forced to live under the worst of coniditons, which thus from its earliest origin makes GHETTO A NOUN.

I think that we are living in a ghetto culture. ghetto is not only happening among the poor working classes, everyone is making money out of it, and it's a complete joke how people follow every damn trend prescribed by stupid celebrities.

hood/ghetto can be a location, a state of being, or an attitude.
Location: lower cost housing area, projects, slum area of the city.
State of being: people who carry themselves a certain way or the way they dress (sagging pants, wife beater, white t's, etc...)
Attitude: The way poeple talk or thier swag can be considered ghetto/hood as well.
My character count is kinda low so I can't ellaborate too much or get into details. But I tried to get to the point as best as I could....
