Donnie Yen has been playing the main character, main hero in Asian films for the past 3years, and his pay is on average, 4Million USD per movie. If he stars in Expendables 2, he will be given around 1/8 of his current pay, and his creativity will be limited(he is always the action choreographer for most of his movies). And look at what happened in the first expendables, Jet Li had 2 little fight scenes, both which he lost. Donnie Yen should not take the movie.

I agree with you 100%. See how greedy American movie industries are? They don't have any of their "own" as great as Donnie yen. So their goal is to capitalize on top-notch martial arts actors. When I first heard of the movie name by informal typing 'ip man' I took it pretty literally and thought it was some geek show about a cyberhighway warrior out to preach and save the world.

Then I look at it again and saw interracial Asian acting (the Japanese characters were acted by Chinese) and realising the lack of authenticity I was glad I didn't really catch the flick.

Ip Man and Ip Man 2 are two of my all time favorite movies, certainly my two most favorite martial arts movies EVER. Ip Man's story is so moving and fascinating, it draws you in right away. The martial arts scenes are riveting and so incredible. I couldn't imagine any other actor portraying Ip Man as elegantly and so believably as Donnie Yen.

Ive enjoyed all the movies all 3 of them, Donnie Yen has an aura about him in the movies, he seems calm and collected in the movies, and you do not doubt it when Ip Man is not happy with something and is ready to rip them a new one, and also when you see him being funny in the movie all of it just clicks.
