  • Nice video !!I also seen your other video of the beach.

  • In India, the traffic drives YOU around...

American Culture: We come to your land, don't know the language, but we are trying to find random males living in your house, so WHAT DO WE DO?!? We crash our Humvees through your gate , kick in your front door, and scream incoherently at your womenfolk at maximum volume, ransacking everything inside your house, finding absolutely nothing, and the dumb Marine plays with your grandpa's erection...

  • Often we Indians don't realize many things about India. A Canadian friend told me that he like the fact no two corners were same in India. He liked the complete "randomness"

  • where abouts did you stay in Chennai?

  • the traffic in INDIA is becoming a great problem......but cant help it.....just hv to slice the traffic while driving.....there r many places where there are no signals.....coz we dont feel necessary to put in those places......but the traffic is not heavy everywhere...only at some places..........:-)

  • you´re dressed wrong...don´t show sholders like indians don´t show them...show respekt

  • Thanks for your comment. And respect is a two-way street. :-)

  • YOU are the guest in THEIR land...I know you americans don´t understand culture. Forget it and stay away from ather countrys =)

  • I had a feeling you'd respond like that. Well,

"Happy is the person who finds fault with himself instead of finding fault with others."

    --Islam. Hadith

"The vile are ever prone to detect the faults of others, though they be as small as mustard seeds, and persistently shut their eyes against their own, though they be as large as Vilva fruit. "

    --Hinduism. Garuda Purana 112

A man holding a basket of eggs does not dance on stones.

--African Traditional Religions. Buji Proverb (Nigeria)

    :-)

  • LOL

  • Thank you! And thanks for stopping by... :-)

  • Oh you americans are so arrogant...Sure it´s you right to dress like YOU want...fuck off

  • Chennai's not that uptight and nobody complained: they've had Westerners visiting for centuries.

  • Who's the bloke?! Let the sheila do the talking!!

  • The "bloke," otherwise known as Dave, was pretty much the reason I even have Indian travel vids... so sorry Lee... in order to see the sheila you have to endure the bloke... :-)

  • Stone the crows, mate! I'd be three snags short of a barbie if I didn't stick me ugly mug on camera once in a while. By the way- how could this Yank tell I was Australian?

  • Hmmm... perhaps it's cause you utter strine... and any wombat, wally, or wanker could figure out your an Aussie... :-)

  • cool 5*

  • Thank you very much... so glad you enjoyed it... I sure appreciate your stopping by again... :-)

  • I'm used to people driving like maniacs (NYC), but sometimes travel to another country can open your eyes. My scariest cab ride was in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) - no seat belts, wild turns with centimeters to spare between obstacles, and one hair-raising left turn where my door flew wide open! I've heard some European highways, particularly in the mountains, can be scary too.

  • Wow... you're Santo Domingo traffic experience exceeds what I saw in India (never had a door fly open... scary). Though, when we were in Kerala, we had a small snafu in planning, and ran late for our train ride back to Chennai. Our host cut a 30 minute drive almost in half by driving like a race car through busy streets, filled with cars, bikes, auto-rickshaws and pedestrians, and making blind turns at top speed. We got to our train thanks to him, but my head now has a couple of grays... :-)

  • That does sound frightening. I bet someone at the end of the trip -- when you were safe on the train -- probably thought about video taping it after the fact... :)

  • Actually... that's true... I think we both thought about it!!! :-D

  • Haha Jimi Hendrix's "Crosstown Traffic" comes to mind.

  • That's funny!!! The traffic patterns in India sure feed the imagination... :-D

  • Cool! Mum grew up in India and has YT videos of her and dad's trip there the year before I was born. There is one where they are filming from inside a taxi which makes me laugh because dad got really frightened. [:

  • Riding in a taxi in Indian traffic was an adventure, indeed... hell, simply walking across the street took courage... :-)

    Thanks for watching!!!

  • I really want to go because mum goes on and on about it. My uncle was born there so we are all going to go together sometime soon. [: xox

  • Oh, I so hope you get to go to India... especially since you have family history there... it will be a big treat, I'm sure!!!

    :-)

  • I asked you on another video if you'd been to India yet - but this video kinda answers my question ! :-)

  • I saw that... :-D

Glad you're checking into the travel vids too! There are a few more, if you have time. They give more insight into our fun adventure... hope you like them... ;-)

  • I like the veiw of the traffic behind you guys.lol

  • The shot was set up by Dave (videowilliams)... I'm sure he appreciates your appreciation! ;-)

Traffic in India was an extremely memorable experience... so different than here in the U.S.

  • I'm never going to complain about Brisbane's traffic again ;) Great clip.

  • Funny! It's true that everything is relative...

    ;-)

We're glad you enjoyed it... thanks for watching!!!

  • This looks like the beginning of a great adventure. I can't wait to see the others!

  • It really, really was, Scott, a great, wonderful adventure. Thanks for watching... ;-)

  • I'm so glad you've been able to document India and share it with us on YouTube! :)

  • Thank you, Courtney... glad your enjoying it!

    ;-)

  • Looks like you are both having fun, just be careful crossing the street, remember to look both ways, then run like hell...as my 3 year old Nephew would say...lol..

  • Your right, Nikki, about going back to looking at the world with childlike eyes and following those early rules like "look both ways"... funny how that is... :-D

    Thanks again!

  • Wow!! the new L.A....lol No method to the maddness-never a dull moment...awesome!

  • It's true that there was never a dull moment. Thanks, as always, for your terrific support!

    ;-)

  • You know...I worry more that Dawn and Dave are now in the same place...together....with each other, spending more than a few hours together. :-P You two better behave!!! haha

  • Not to worry, Eric... Dave and I were model citizens. We did both America and Australia proud! Thanks for checking in. See ya on KC... ;-)

  • daid and dawn so nice to see you guys enjoying India, send news more often. it´s so nice to see all those adventures together. have fun good people and we are here waiting for more india stories.

  • Thank you, tigerus3... we had alot of fun putting these videos together! We're so glad you enjoyed them... ;-)

  • Just saying SatNam David and Dawn. have you try the joke at the teahouse yet..Ha Ha Ha.#1Fan

  • Thanks again, Lou! Very cute joke... :-D

  • What you see there represents a whole different mindset towards life. The traffic moves totally organically, those 'random buildings' are what you get when you don't have the government trying to enforce aesthetics...

In so many ways it truly is a different world.

  • Yes, thank you, SirEuchre! Your comments are, as always, quite perceptive. Traffic does move very organically and I feel that, with such chaos, the drivers in India are much more aware than drivers in America, who have become quite accustomed to organized movement that can be performed unthinkingly.

While its a different world, India is moving fast toward a "New India" which is looking more and more like a "modern city". Some of those new "aesthetics" certainly lose that old world charm.

  • You guys would totally freak out if you saw what traffic is like in Saigon.... Man, I wish I was someplace warm and humid.

So awesome to see video of you guys in India! What a treat! Thank you for letting the rest of us experience your adventures with you!

    xoxoxoxo!!

  • Hiya My Sweet Slantee! I'll be emailing you soon! Your wonderful support, from the very beginning of this trip, has stuck with both Dave and I... your observations and offerings being quite insightful. Hugs and kisses to you!!

  • Great, looks warm...I wanna go! : ) x

  • Thank you, stormvixen... it is quite warm. I recommend a trip... hope you can make it out!

  • It's been our pleasure, Luis... thank you for watching!

  • interesting. Good video. Keep 'em coming.

  • Thanks so much for watching!! Glad you enjoyed it... ;-)

  • thank you, Dawn. Please don't drive the lorry.

  • I wasn't likely to drive anything in India... to scary for this girl who almost got run over cause she forgot that the cars drive on the left side of the road... :-D

    Thanks again for watching, Phil!

  • That is wicked. Is anybody crazy enough to lay out in the middle of the road like in that football movie from years ago? Nooooooo...

That traffic scene looked like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.

  • That's a fun analogy! In fact Dave described some of the new construction here as Dr.Seuss' buildings :-))

  • Very cool observation, Bennet. There was a definite other world quality to my India experience... and Dr. Seuss certainly applies. Thanks for watching! ;-)

  • Very cool. Er, I mean, very hot;-) Thanks so much for sharing and keeping us informed. Can't wait to hear more about the movie!!

  • Thank you, Jan! We had alot of fun sharing our adventure. I'll be posting about the movie soon on KC... stay tuned. India was quite sultry... ;-)
