And the term "industrial music" was coined after Peter Christopherson's first label called Industrial Records. I get most of my info from reading interviews with the bands I like, try it.

The thing about the term 'Industrial' nowadays is that it's turned into an Umbrella term all sorts of genres such as Aggrotech, Futurepo, Dark Electro, Industrial, basically any genre associated with some common root however far removed. They are all good though anyway.

Yes, though I also am the one who thought real "industrial" music was bands like EN or Test Dept, where most of the music on stage was made by guys banging on big loud things or using actual power tools. I love dance electronics too, but I think as soon as 99% of the music is made with computers on top of otherwise traditional instruments like drums and guitars, it's really stupid for people to argue if a band like VNV or Skinny Puppy is actually more "industrial".
