The service manual or owners manual will tell you how often this needs to be done. You do need to do this on EFI bikes. The FJR is fuel injected and I know that this needs to be done on the BMW boxers with EFI.

Hi. How often do you have to do this? What do you actually adjust to get the throttles balanced on a fuel injected bike?

you don't need to balance an EFI bike. it uses sensors to automatically adjust the air/fuel mixture.
