This is not how you clean solar panels, PLEASE do not wipe a dry solar panel with a dry cloth that you picked up off the roof!!!! This guy is wrong, please ignore his advice. Water that has been passed through a DI vessel is the best way to clean these panels, using a super soft bristle brush. Do not use soap or any kind of detergent.
Yikes - we usually recommend that our customers clean solar panels by hosing them off from ground level once or twice a year at most. The fraction of a percent you'll gain from cleaning with a rag over just hosing off isn't worth the potential damage to the modules, or safety risk of climbing around on the roof (the most dangerous place to work, according to OSHA). I know people who were injured trying to clean their panels - be safe!
lol... Holy crap! who installed this mess? Looks like its sittingright on the roof... no air flow, mismatch panels, wires sitting right on the shingles.
It was a commendable effort to try and show how to maintain a solar system. So thanks for that. However, this video should be titled "all the things you should not do with a solar system". Wow. Almost everything in this video is alarming. Panels facing various directions (same inverter?), wiring, mounting, cleaning process. There's no way this was approved by the city/county which means the utility doesn't know it is there - which can be dangerous to utility troublemen. Wow.
Wow. Improperly gauged and rated wire with no protection. No conduit. Improper mounting. Your insurance company or the code enforcement department in your city would throw you through the wringer if they discovered this installation.

Oh hell no! I bet you scratched the hell out that panel. Get a bucket, a spray bottle, and a squeegy. Or a brush that has a hose attachment. and your in buisiness.
You don't dry dust these panels, you'll scratch them.
Dude, this is a really bad solar panel setup and you would be wise to hire someone to come out and fix it before you get hurt, damage the equipment of burn your house down.
