man i wish i was at this school during the time in which the band actually gave a flying fuck about what they were doing....only ones who really care now is the drumline and a few select wind players.. there's no such thing as commitment anymore
I dont honestly see how this was a championship performance.... perhaps that says something about the competition. The guy screaming dialogue from Henry V over the delicate passages being performed horribly by the poorly written front ensemble and woodwinds is somewhat disturbing. the drill design is actually very good, not marched that well, but one can make out the concepts. A lot of segments were bulky and dragging in tempo, attacks and releases seem to be a problem along with intonation.

Eric, Jimmy's mentioned you a couple times. I'm still with the line, only a sophomore. We have Carl working with us, and Justin Lewis helps every now and than, but if you're ever in town and wanna see what things are now like, we could always use the help and some pointers. Our Winter Show is pretty good, although I doubt we'll go to WGI in Dayton, money's an issue along with other things, but yeah.
Holly, this is the show from back when we were in 4th grade. My sister, who's now a junior in college, was a freshman, that's how old this show is. They were good back than. They actually one this competition, I remember. That's why when we went to muscle shoals this year, they thought we were really good even though...yeah. Muscle Shoals hasn't seen us in 4 years since Imagination I think, they still think we're that good, only not. I remember Jacob V, and the electronics never working...wow...
This year, Centennial's like the best high school band in Tennessee. Yesterday, they competed at the Muscle Shoals competion that our band (Austin High School) also went to. At the competion, they got second place in their class. Everyone was surprised that someone beat Centennial, including the band that beat them. xDD
wow. your sooooo wrong! we suck! we weren't even expecting to do that good. our show this year is horrible. I'm not surprised that someone beat us at all. But thanks for the compliments.
Really? Everyone in our band was like "OMG Centennial's going to be at the competition! They're the best marching band in Tennessee!" Though, our band didn't get to watch your show. My mom said that, when the band beat you, the people around her were like "Wow, they just beat Centennial!"
We won that show in 2002 and 2003, runners-up in 2004... That's probably where that shock came from. I honestly haven't been able to see the band since I graduated (except for CoC '05). But Columbia stole the show from us in 2004. Oh, memories...
Man, I loved being in that snare line. So big, so clean. What a fun show that was. And I love the bass pose at the end of the show. I forgot that was tradition. I can't believe this was 5 years ago!
phenominal drill. very creative arrangement of henry v, not easy to do...would like to have a cymbal/timp roll leading into intial attack, more effective. otherwise pretty good job, the ensemble plays well together, very effective phrasing, nuances, dynamic and tempo control. nice colors and timbres from front. however, the shakespeare narration of that wacked out guy screaming into the microphone is a bit OTT and very disturbing.
