~Brilliant awesome first flight scene , absolute perfectio for me and iv read the comics watched all the shows, for 30 years lved 1st 3 films and supergirl movie, this is amazing, right up there with a brilliant homage to superman the movie 1978 and the dc comic Superman, loved dc's Adventures of superman but this was pure action comics Superman
I felt a little let down by this scene, I mean I know he had to have finished his trials and stuff but I thought that there was a specific thing to learn in order to be able to fly or something he needed to feel emotionally, when in the end Jor el was just like "here's flight power, have fun" like he gave it to Clark rather than Clark learn how to do it, maybe I'm wrong if so something explain it to me
On the one hand, having Darkseid being just Lionel with a weird voice is disappointing. On the other hand, having essentially Lionel as the final villain makes sense thematically. He was the first Big Bad, and is responable for not only Clark meeting Lex, but Lex becoming Clark's archnemsis. Oh, and FINALLY CLARK FLIES! Yeah! It's a great thing to finally see.
Oh come'on... The finale was said to be of 2 hours but in the end, it was only a mere 1h20min episode. They could have used the rest of the time in making the fight with darkseid more "vivid"... Like darkseid leaving Lionel's body, leaving him dead cold on the ground and taking his physical form and smashing clark through walls and vice-versa... That would have been cool! :P And yea, clark could have fought him in the superman suit :P
@devilnero02 okay first off 2 hours on tv will always be short because of commercials second they couldn't because they didn't have the buidget for darseid.
@devilnero02 i was thinking the same thing about 2 hours! I dont care what anyone says about comercials, the producers of smallville said it was 2 hours!
the only thing that was missing from the finale was clark's first and only love the preternaturally beautiful, lana lang. tom welling and kristen kreuk had to be the most beautiful couple i have ever seen on screen. they were positively luminescent together and they had the best theme songs. i will never forget the first time clark took lana to the fortress and they were playing james blunt's beautiful. it was so awesome. i think no one expected tom and kristen to possess such chemistry.
I like how when Clark is in the air, flying for the first time, he is in the same position that Superman often takes when stopped in mid-air in the comics.
WIsh that he would of actually fought Darkseid rather than a possesed Lionel Luthor. And then just to fly through him and he falls apart was rather dumb. I really loved seeing him fly though. I felt satisfied!
Love how they showed scenes from pervious eps in this scene to make him see that he's been training his hole life and has always had it in him to be a hero.
this darkseid to me is just clark's final trial... the real darkseid that took on superman obviously is way tougher
