I'm almost "overweight" but perfectly healthy. I eat almost completley natrual, 1000 cals a day, and jog, workout, play basketball and soccer, and do cross country. I'm only 14 and 123lbs....and only 5 foot. Don't trust bmi at all. You know if your healthy or not
u know what, if they wanna reduce obesity they should make foods healthier... like all healthy food is expensive, it pisses me off, most junk food is cheaper than healthy stuff
These nutritionists and doctors still have 0 clue on what foods people should be eating. Naturally humans should be eating 2000+ calories from fruit a day, 300-400 calories from greens, and a small amount of soaked /sprouted nuts and seeds when desired. Starving your body by only eating 1 cheeseburger instead of 4 isnt going to solve the problem.
guess what folks. its not always parents who don't want to take the time to cook better meals, a lot of it is money. A lot of families have a vicious choice, pay the rent or buy healthy food for their kids. When you can only afford to eat fast food there is no choice, because its better than starving to death.
If you notice this shows kids getting all sorts of junk food in the schools. When I was in high school we had pop machines, but they unplugged them on us during the day. They were for after school ONLY. If you wanted pop with your lunch you had to bring it in. Most kids didn't buy their lunch because school food was disgusting. If I forgot my lunch, I would usually go without eating. It's kinda funny that I was usually a size 12, considering how little I ate.
Great video. Made lots of sense. Yes, obesity can be heredity and can also be caused by a medical condition, but most importantly it CAN be controlled and overcome by the right mindset. Its hard to change that though unless you have the "know how"
@xxdiogenescynicxx Yeeeh. the problem is ACTIVITY. not what they eat. instead of having trips to the local wal-mart, they should be having trips to the gym, and park.
@skarpengland You can exercise as much as you want but if your diet is bad you will only be wasting your time. Training is 10%, nutrition is 75% and rest is 15%. The problem isn't bad parenting its ignorance. The average person knows nothing about nutrition and just eat whatever they want. You can't do that! Bodybuilding comes with sacrifices, the major one is eating junk very sparingly, some people lack the discipline some don't.
@NJnaturalBB That goes for bodybuilding. what about us who practices running everyday? according to BMI, im normal, and i eat what i want. i think carefully about proteins, carbs and fat, and have run a 2 year course at "food school" or what it is called in english. i am in quite good shape, looking forward to run beneath 38:30 at 10km, and i dont care THAT much about nutrition. its important, but not everything.
BMI, just is a useless flawed system, I never recommend it.
Well nutrition isn't everything for running, because you don't have to be lean to run, it makes it alot easier, but isn't required. But for bodybuilding nutrition is more important than the training itself. You can be lifting and doing cardio for 5 hours a day 6 days a week, and if your diet isn't top notch, your just limiting your progress.
@xxdiogenescynicxx Not all artificial sweeteners are bad, hell some of them are naturally made! Try looking at stevia and splenda, splenda uses sucralose which isn't known for any cancer causing carcinogens. Extra and diet sodas uses aspartame as an artificial sweetener which has a bad rap for causing cancer.
And what to you think is wrong with reduced fat milk??
Dont go grocery shopping when hungry. That's a good rule. I've seen what happens when people shop when hungry, with packages open and empty still on the shelf at the commissary of all places.
if the government really cared they'd outlaw fast food... nope, corporations run our country
educate yourself
eat lots of fruit & veggies

Don't worry, I had plenty of friends who were lanky and thin but in a few years you should be fine, just eat healthily and be active.
