  • dude i got a ford taurus 1996 g ugly design i hate it,is an embarassing car to drive, especially when i go to the school parking lot i avoid eye contact.i will post a video of my car soon

  • Wow!

    It works

  • I use meguiars when restoring lightbars before i sell them, I use a buffer to apply the polish, works 20x better than by hand and doesnt leave swirl marks, Ive revived lenses that have seen arizona sun for 15 years, they come out like new.

  • great video, I just bought some at K-mart, cost me $7.30, but from your headlight results the extra money was worth it.

  • Good ole fashioned rubbing compound works just as good and is way cheaper

  • screw rubbing compunds. leaves swirls then you must buy another to get rid of those swirls. meguiars uses diminishing abrasives

  • My car looks just like your's and that my friend is ugly. who cares about swirl marks as long as the yellow haze is gone and my lights are clear...your throwing your money away foolishly.

  • what car do i have???

  • @Buhundred i have the same, 1996 ford taurus

  • so is this meguiars product that this guy is using good for headlights? If not whats the best to you?

  • what name brand though, and what product?

  • ever hear of "Crystal View Headlight Restorer"? apparently it's like this stuff but better. look it up on youtube or google and see. really looks convincing to me.

  • opps wrong product. i ment the Pittman ALR Acrylic Headlight Oxidation Remover. it's like this stuff but it literary makes them look like new. look up pittman.

  • I've seen the video, I don't buy it. That is nothing but a cleaner which may only remove the yellowing. What about the fine nicks caused by the bombardment of the elements during normal driving and the abrasions, swirls and scratches caused by washing? This is where products like PlastX and Mother's Plastic Polish shine. Furthermore, any mild abrasive product works! Brasso(said earlier) and Mother's Mag & Wheel Polish have been shown to work beautifully. I also concur that it's ALOT CHEAPER too

  • check my tute out its for a perm fix and works better. little more work but well worth it.

  • I tried the Plastx, It was a lot of work for a temporary fix. Acrylic lens Deoxidizers work best on headlight oxidation.

    Much safer and faster.

  • A lot of work? You wipe it on, then wipe it off. If you were to do it 3 times on each headlight it still would only take you 5 minutes. You call that a lot of work?

  • If you have a very light amount of oxidation that may be true, but the time you show how the product works in the video is what i am refering too. You do a lot of work on the headlight off camera. Noticable improvement though.

  • A lot of work off camera? I did 2 applications per light. How can you possibly call that a lot of work? It's barely even work at all, it takes little effort.

I wiped it on, wiped it off, wiped more on, wiped it off.

Then repeated for the other light. It takes so little time and effort to do that.

  • I tried this on my 07 escort, it took out the yellow oxidation and temporally the foggy oxidation. The foggy/white returned as it air dry. Any tips pm me!

  • meant 97* Escort

  • I don't know. I don't think there is any way to get rid of the foggy white. I don't know. Perhaps you have some deep scratches swirled into there that it can't take out, only temporarily mask. I'm really not sure.

This stuff isn't gonna make them like new, it's impossible, but it sure as hell makes them a lot better.

  • You do know that stuff is for colored plastic not clear lens?

  • 2 things:

    1. It worked, so who cares?

    2. It IS for clear lenses, it even says on the bottle: "Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish"

  • Yeah I just tried this stuff today. I am amazed with the results as well and I also installed the Sylvania Silverstar's which are good.

  • really helpful video.

i have a 2004 nissan skyline r33 gts-t with yellow headlights, so id heard rumours of this stuff being amazing.. im a meguiars fan anyway but im off to buy some this afternoon.. may do a little video also.

    thanks !

  • make a video of your skyline

  • What the hell Skyline are you talking about? I think you got the wrong guy. If I had the money for a Skyline I wouldn't have a skyline, I'd probably use it to race at All-Star or Lee Speedway.

  • hahaha

  • Haha. I never noticed until now that this was a response to another comment. Stupid youtube never has the comments lined up right on the actual video.

  • Did that meguiars stuff leave swirl marks on your headlights?

  • Brasso works just as well, and it's only a buck a can! All you need is a can of Brasso and a few paper towels!

  • great video and thanks for the comments!

  • I actually just did a headlight restoration on a Taurus. I got an actual kit from VIP Auto parts though. It came with several grits of sand paper, a polishing compound, and a cloth. Basically you sand the headlight with finer and finer grits of sand paper to remove scratches. Then you apply the polish and wipe off. It worked really well.

You seemed to get really good results a lot easer with that PlastX stuff though. I'm going to try it next time.

  • my headlight are worse than yours
