We suffered more american casualties during my 15 month deployemnt than at any other year. Read the books Black Hearts and None left Behind about the 2 following units that took over FOB Mahmudiyah, PB Lutifiyah, FOB Yusifiyah, and JS Bridge etc. Route Temple, Sportster, Malibu and Jackson can kiss my ass!!!
I remember when my Lt. came up to us, "Hey guess what guys. The media is calling our AO The Triangle of Death." I was like, "Really? Well that's a relief I though all of Iraq was this fucked up." Was good lulz. I'll never forget that, or the brothers I lost there, or the innocent people caught in it, or the brave ING soldiers who stuck it out & fought for their freedom. Our ING guys weren't even in their own province. How fucked to join the national guard & deal with some other state's shit.
