All the attacks on Herman Cain's 9-9-9 remind me of all the attack's on Ronald Reagan's lowering of the US income tax. It is too simple, you can't do it, yet his tax cuts created 20 years of prosperity and increased revenue to the US treasury. I noticed the economist behind Ronald Reagan's ideas, Laffler by name, endorsed Cain's 9-9-9 plan. Along with the enterprize zones it will give great growth to the economy. Listening to Cain reminds me of Ronald Reagan, our best president ever!
As an ex-pat American living in Australia, I still vote in all the US elections. We have a goods and service tax of 10% and it hasn't hurt the economy at all. The rich are paying a lot more tax in Australia on their consumption, and the public treasury benefits. The poor still get their welfare, and life goes on. 9-9-9 transition into a fair tax with a huge rise in employment, only a marxist would reject it.

Companies like GE,Exxon Mobil etc. that have made large contributions to campaigns that also pay little or 0% in taxes under the current tax code are allowed to deduct the taxes they pay in foreign countries from the taxes they should pay here. Taxation: would prefer no taxation, however if you're going to tax, there should be sales/consumption tax on non-food items only. The states should have independant sales taxes and the federal government gets 1% of each state's tax for every representative it has in the house of reps.

Herman Cain is closer to the "average" american than any of these politicians. Herman knows what its like in the real world. He is not a politician, which is a good thing. When has a normal, non-politician ever had a chance to win a nomination? NEVER. Why not now? Weve been electing corupt politicians for years and look at where were at? Its time for a REAL change, and herman cain is that change. And who better to fix a broke company(our economy) than a businessman who has a record of that.

@jag10 I didnt say he WAS an average American. I said he was closer than everyone else up there, and Obama. He didnt grow up rich. He is not a politician. He is a business man. Political views aside, look at the mans background. Its more akin to someone like Steve Jobs(minus the riches) running for president. THe point is that he is not a politician. Which means he doesnt owe any political favors and maybe might actually do the things he promises during his campaign.

@qwertymanor Maybe so. But all who seek public office usually have some links or ties to people with money. Money begets money. So since all of them have that in common, which do you choose? A president usually cant do the things he says hes gonna do because he doesnt want to upset his base, blah blah blah.. Cain has no "Base" hes not a politician. He will not be afraid to ruffle a few feathers if what hes doing is right. No ones perfect, but cain is the best choice, or Paul, but he cant win.

I missed work on Friday here in Tennessee. My co-workers went to a contracting job in Jackson, TN. Herman Cain was there and he drew a huge crowd. When I heard this on Monday I can only think that the Lord did not want me to go because of the speeches I would give regarding his "9-9-9" plan, his Federal Reserve ties, his inability as an "economist" to predict the housing bubble collapse, etc. Ron Paul 2012!
