awesome vid. i can only do the fakie.. but i understand exactly what you mean when you push your edge in it throws you up. also i find the lower you get / more bent knees the higher you can jump. you also dont need to have alot of speed for these but it helps :)
@ImAussieMate Agreed. Every skater has to figure out what knee-bend works best for them. My legs aren't that strong to begin with, so I don't take deep knee bends.
I used to do a Reverse One-Footed jump. A guy called Alan from Winter rink (Argentina) taught me to do it. Unfortunately I can't skate until February because a soreness in my right ankle... so, I can't film it for the time being.
I need to get someone to video me doing a 360 to see what it looks like. When I do the jump the whole world is a blur while airborne until I'm lucky enough to have landed without falling over!
There's a Reverse One-Footed Edge Jump in the XISTH - Mini Tour Germany video at 3.43, we have been able to do a 'Reverse Flare Jump' (?) only a couple of times but it's really really hard to do! We'll try to do our best to film a succesfull one!
Very good video for people who are new to the sport of Xtreme Ice Skating!
@XISTHBelgium lol yep, that's exactly the jump I was talking about. That jump is HARD. I would have given you credit for that jump in the video but I didn't see that particular video, although I try to watch as many videos as possible from everyone in the world. If you could film a successful reverse one-footed edge (which the jump itself has no name yet - - I was thinking a "Reverse Flare Jump"), I'll give you credit for the jump and post the link at the top.
@andreweasygale 180's are hard to convert into edge jumps. If you ever do a 180 and it feels like the ice just pushed on your feet really hard, than you know you've done a successful 180 edge jump. Otherwise it would just be a boring old 180.

Excellent, I've been doing a lot more jumps nowadays mainly 180's. I've tried 360's and 50% of attempts I end up on my arse! This is very helpful.
