And Lincoln was a republican, but for at least the past 30-40 years it's been obvious to anyone with two brain cells to rub together that parties shift ideologically, most of the Dixiecrats finally jumped to the republicans. Whatever happened to progressive republicans like Lincoln? They got outnumbered by greedy rich white people, warmongers, military industrial complex businessmen, and of course, xenophobic racists. Which party had Tancredo in the primaries wanting to stop all immigration?

Excuse me?!?! It's the Democrats who were first to play the race card in this election year kid. Can't explain the minority support, probably the promise of federal give aways. And "warmonger"?!?! Stop ignoring history. The Vietnam war, a little conflict the Democrats dragged us into, cost us hundreds of thousands more human lives then thge currently conflict. Again you're only half right. JFK did lead us into vietnam under a plan by republican president Harry Truman called "containment". It was this republican idea of containment that was used to justify the vietnam war and the reason Nixon drug the war out for 8 more years.

Most everyone in the south was a democrat until civil rights came along and the democratic president Johnson aided MLK jr by helping pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Then they all jumped ship for the party that wanted to keep segregation. Suck on that for a minute.
