  • You got the pipe too hot and that weakens it. When you braze a vibration eliminator to copper you mus use a lower melting temperature solder like 45% silver or Stay Brite. Otherwise you if you use a high melting temperature braze rod like Sil-Phos, you run the chance of melting the the thin flexible bellows in the vibration eliminator.

    Ten pounds of nitro is excessive and can stop you from obtaing a 100% leak proof joint.

    Lastly, you don't show that there was no soot in the pipe you brazed.
