However, there is a huge micro-brew industry that make some very fine beer. More likened to beer from the UK. They mostly use top fermenting yeast which is faster, and generally heavier tasting. German Beer in is often brewed with bottom fermenting yeast (slower process) that gives it a more clear, clean taste, and strong too. The best in my book!

DUDE! have you ever had an American Microbrew??? If you are west of the Mississippi, try anything from new Belgium brewery like Fat Tire or their Oktoberfest, east of the Mississippi (I'm from the east coast) is Lancaster brewery with Hop Devil, or even Iron Hills brewery with Hoppipodmius or their river horse brews. I know what you mean with Coors and Bud, but even they USED to be traditional Chez. Pilsners at one point. Its all about the love of beer, not just the brew style!!!

guinness isn't that great in terms of a good dry stout, It is made to be mass marketed not for quality or character. I'm sure there is some good irish beer out there, but it isn't exported Most good german beer is not mass produced and therefor can only be enjoyed locally in a biergarten or brauhaus. There are a few exceptions such as Weihenstephan and shlenkerla, but local german beer is always better. If you want good beer in the US you have to brew it yourself. so sick of overhopped garbage
