I feel that blaming society for having socipathic leaders is blaming the victim a little. I do think that society should be more ready to raise up and apply the guillotine more often though.
According to Herman Cain it's our own fault we are not rich. What are your views on entrepreneurship? I'm always being told that that's the way to financial freedom. It is said that being a business owner, and being successful with it will get you to the top 1%.
@quicktripgas the one thing they don't bother telling people about entrepreneurship is that most of them fail. Miserably. And ideally, you're supposed to start up a company, then sell it as soon as it's at it's peak. Yeah, that's real responsible.
Another thing is that they always frame it as either being rich or poor... as if that's the only state of being. You don't have to be rich to live comfortably, and Americans have yet to understand this.
@quicktripgas The American Dream is pure Reagan-esque Neoliberal propaganda. Since the Reagan administration sold the US government to the "virtual senate" of deregulated financial capital, the only thing that has trickled down to the American public has been the socialized debt of anti-capitalist bank bailouts. To those that say government is the problem consider this: even with our hobbled democracy, each citizen has a vote. Every time something is privatized, totalitarianism is increased.
It IS a peasant revolt and its time to bring back the guillotine.
