  • Excellent little clip!

  • This was Denver's first LRT station back in the 90's. They now have somewhere around 40 miles of LRT with a grand total of 150 miles of LRT and CRT to come online by 2017. Union Station of course has been around for more than a century but has been redone and will again for the new transit.

  • No, Union Station LRT station was built in the early 2000's when the Central Platte Vally extension was constructed. The downtown "loop" was the original portion completed in 1994 from 18th/ California to I-25/Broadway station. It was about 4 miles long at first, and was for all practical purposes a downtown park-n-ride from Broadway.

  • Yeah, you're right. I was just looking at the time line function on google earth the other day and noticed that when I backed it up to the mid-nineties.

  • is this a new construction or has this been in existence for a while

  • Baseline started in 1994, this part of the line was built in the early 2000's to Union Station. Ever since, the taxpayers can't stop funding extensions: The Southeast LRT to Longmont and the Southwest LRT to Lincoln/Nine Mile under T-REX, as well as the recent and under construction "Fastracks" project that includes commuter rail and a BRT line.
