@RealReferendumNow proportional representation is not a voting system its a system of distribution, for example here in Australia our Senate has proportional representation in that all states receive 12 senators and each territory receives 2 senators and these people are elected by the Inclusive Gregory method

AV+ Is a good compromise, 1997 and 2001 Labour would just about have gained a very slim majority, 2005 would have been hung.

quite true. Look at the current situation in Germany for example. The CDU/CSU and FDP are having trouble governing the country sensibly as they aren't on good terms with one another...where is that supposed to lead?
