This show was aired Halloween Night in 1986. The music was exclusive only to this episode and quite fitting. Incredible show and I still think there will never be another one like it.
If they wanted to it could have lasted 10-15 years.
Has anyone noticed the HUGE error in the script for this episode? Noone believes Crockett when he says - on "intuition" - that they have arrested the wrong man. Castillo asks him to prove it, a superior talks about technical evidence, etc. THUS they have all forgotten about the woman in the hospital that was assaulted, who is the only one that has ever laid eyes on the "Shadow". She could have said immediately that they had arrested the wrong person. How could they possibly commit this error?
@ScottBrad89 - yes it certainly is! But still - that does not answer the question: How can such things happen? I am often fascinated by the sometimes enormous errors encountered in the scripts even for movies with nine-digit production costs (in USD). However, some such errors are only apparent, and may reflect "emergency decisions" made during the production, often for financial reasons. Alien 3 is one classic example of that kind of problem.
I understand you, ManlioGiordano. Maybe they should have paid attention to it, but I just think that it's not such a big error to worry about. Maybe they even didn't make an error in the script, maybe there's a deleted scene of the feds questioning the poor girl. Who knows. But I still think that it's not such a big deal.
Wonderful music score also - not least during the first minutes. Hammer included music from this episode in the 2-CD collection that was later released.
I really have a great deal of feedback to provide - and might do so later - but right now, I just want to say: 1. Thank you for this effort! 2. It's a shame that the climax of the episode is included; that should not be shown in a trailer. :-) This episode was really out of place in the series (where I do not consider the horrific two last seasons as part of the series proper), but the fact remains that it was a very well-made little film in itself. Time is used very economically, for instance.
This was one of my favourite episodes of Miami Vice. It is like a prelude to the Manhunter film that Micheal Mann directed. I loved the music as well and Don Johnson stretched his acting chops a little.
Seriously, agree that this episode is a lot better than most suspense movies nowadays. Also, I think this is THE creepiest Miami Vice episode, bar none.
Miami Vice was way ahead of it's time, this is one of those cases, this caught the "Manhunter" style mind-drama before a lot of series went into that.
Another place it was ahead of it's time was the James Brown peanut butter episode and the one with the frozen guy. Those would have fit right in with the X-Files and were made 10 years before the X-Files was.
Another great trailer bro. Definatly caught the atmosphere of the episode. If you want another suggestion I would think that Cuba Libre would make a good trailer, especially with its beginning. I can see that you prefer Season 3. I loved it too

almost half of Season 4 (which includes Love at First Sight) is suspensful, it's probably the reason why people started to turn away from the show
fredury 2 years ago
@fredury yes very true I believe season 4 is even more dramatic than season 3, especially the dolls episode in season 4 which is fucking creepy

season 1 and 2 are considered the "classic" seasons but I like 3 the best and actually think at least the first half of season 4 is good.

@doug625ut All seasons have their quality. Every season had it's fair share of bad episodes, it's just the stinkers in season 4 & 5 are unwatchable.
