Theoretically, if this were to actually happen, would it be possible for humans to survive in some sort of hermetically sealed underground base, assuming we had a strong source of energy?
Just one comment, why is there no serial posted on here? How strange, its the done thing to purchase software and p2p it, I always do if i acquire software, perhaps the person will do his duty...
Create a star 10x the mass of the sun, create a sun orbiting that, create an earth orbiting THAT, create a moon orbiting THAT, create an asteroid orbiting THAT, create a SMALLER ASTEROID ORBITING THAT, create a BOWLING BALL ORBITING THAT, CREATE A DIE ORBITING THAT, THENN, CREATE A PIN ORBITING THAT!

So, apparently it doesnt actually simulate climate change, as earth is still blue and green looking and not a chaotic iceball when you finally zoom in on it... I am sorely disappointed!
It would have taken Newton hundreds of hours to calculate the motion of all those bodies. Now kids fling planets into each other in accelerated time for amusement.
@tandis97 wasnt asking about if i would be dead or alive, i was asking how would it effect our climate. Would it be raining lava with all the volcano exploding, would all the tetonic plates move with the increased lava flow from the high gravity pull from the 2nd star? Coming to think of it, 2 stars that near miss...wouldnt they somehow explode and cause a gigantic black hole?
In reality the gravity tide by the sun from earths distance is 6times normal gravity. We just dont feel that force because we escape from falling to the sun, euh short story, its in orbit.
Adding a second sun would pull on earth. THe earth itself is in freefal in relation to the sun and the second sun. So we dont feel anything because of it. But the earth itself does.
Adding a second sun could easily turn the whole earth into lava if not to brake into 2 pieces.
@NoHeadsProduction depends entirely on if you enjoy playing with simulators and seeing all the different things you can make happen. If yes, then its a quite fun game.
I wonder. How they they know its made of Ice? Did they send something to check it out, take core sample? Who knows, it could be a planet in permanent winter :P
I'm not saying its one thing or the other, just saying Id like more evidence than the knowledge of its location
My only complaint so far is that the simulations get inaccurate and often tosses planets out of orbit if you crank up the timescale a lot.
I love to watch cosmic events. Have you noticed if you increase the mass of the sun to 200% of its original mass, the earth year is reduced to 50%? Also it becomes a lot hotter :P but apart from that, interesting sequence of consequences.
@MrMackan12 Portal References isn't about why! It's about why not! Why is so much of our Portal References dangerous? Why not marry safe Portal References if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you on the butt on the way out, because YOU ARE FIRED.
@cheezecakeV2 oh my god. I can't believe you just threw that thing which we don't know what it is into an aperture science incinerator. go ahead then, touch that thing, see if I care. You know what? You were a mistake & and you don't have any friends.
Scientists had already made a suggestion about what could happen if a star sized object passed by the Solar system - passing by 1 light years would cause the Oort Cloud comets to be flung by the gravity of the star towards the planets, annihilating all planetary surfaces in one apocalyptic comet bombardment. An even worser scenario is if the star hits the Sun directly - instant nova, which would incinerate the solar system entirely.
well that was weird, after watching this i decided to see what will happen if i were to add a second sun to our system to try to make it a binary system, but all they do is shoot away from each other as fast as possible, am i doing something wrong?
i let our sun explode into 50 pieces traveling at the speed of light ^^

@connell256 Stars only form black holes when they implode. Two stars coming near to each other does nothing except modify gravity.
