  • Kissing your mom on the lips is just weird..

  • ED movies: someone is always running in the beginning, and the friend always dies.....

  • am i the only one disturbed by the make out session she had with her mom. 0.0

  • So, I just had to cry when she found out Patches died! :( awe... How SAD! :(

  • "how can she do this to you??" what about how Kate feels?

  • Parents really be fucking kids up. Why would you tell your daughter her dad left because of her. Then when you grow up fucked up people are confused.

  • This film reminded me a lot "I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can"!!!

The evolution of its plot, not its subject!!!

  • Thanks for posting! I know that it must be hard going through what you're going through...just wanna say best of luck & you can do it!

  • the husband turns good <3

  • Wait, I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything but how does that happen when she was bleeding ?

  • @vabeach94 She either ruptured her stomach or esophagus. Later in the movie she gabs her stomach, so I assume it's her stomach.

  • @MsPelicanus Think happy? Are you effing serious??

  • @MsPelicanus

    BRAVO!!!

People should take responsability for their own lives!!!

  • anyone notice how ever movie about eating disorders has the main character running in the beginning? like honestly, cant hollywood be more original. And also, i am not sure which hospital would put you impatient so fast, the day she was diagnosed!

  • "Oh god, poor Patch. You're really invisiable, now." That just killed me. Damn, ED movies. They're always so cheesey, yet they leave me in tears.

  • was it true that her room mate died or was it just a part of this movie?

  • @kim24may The movie is entirely fictional, so it's all "just part of the movie."

  • Why didn't the mother apologize? I don't get it. Makes me angry. She's a great daughter and that was just not cool.

  • NOT trying to be funny but seriously that mother makes ME want to throw up!!

  • It's wrong, but I double lol'd at the melodramaticness of this film, first the ruptured esophagus and then the dead friend - it just feeds into the stereotype of EDs as being exciting and dramatic and attention grabbing when really they're long, drawn out and generally extremely repetitive and dull. You don't drop dead, you just find out in 10 years that your bones are shot and you'll never have kids, THAT's how they fuck you over...

  • This film was not CRAZY triggering and does a great job at conveying what really goes on in the eating disordered psyche. In real life, contrary to the common ED stereotype, eating disorders do NOT discriminate in age...so I loved how the plot was centered around a middle-aged woman instead of a teen. One of the best movies on EDs I've ever seen.

  • I wish i had a guy that loved me

  • @fushadragon you'll find one:)

  • @fushadragon I hear you on this...

  • Really people it's a movie she didn't die watch the other one it's called a secret between friends and someone dies but there not really dead

  • Kate's mom is lucky to have such an awesome daughter.

  • When Kate was opening up and crying, and Jack held her, I felt like tearing up =(

  • I'm crying right now. This is so sad!

  • I almost cried when I found out Patch died. That was surprising. What a sad movie. Kate reminds me of myself in a way, but I just hope I never have to go into one of those places! I'd freak out!

  • Thank you so so SO much for posting this! I've been looking for this movie for years and I suffer from both anorexia and bulimia. It was wonderful to watch again -3

  • @abercrombiehllstr i hope that you recover and get better soon!

  • Amazing movie. Thanks so much for posting it.

  • Good lord her mom reminds me so much of mine. And Kate reminds me so much of me

  • Thank you so very much for posting this movie. I really needed to see it.

  • omg i have no idea why i watched this movie...it hurt me so much...i dont even suffer through bulimia or anorexia, i go through other mental illnesses like anxiety, depression and ptsd...but for some reason i felt like i wanted to see this. well its soo sad...but whatever. at least its over...

  • thank you

  • Uh...the end kiss between the mom and daughter looks like they are semi-making out.

  • After watching this movie i have learned so much more about Bulimia. This has showed me that it is a very bad thing and this could lead to death. Even if you were to take laxatives it can kill you instead of helping you.

  • This movie had me in tears a couple of times. That mother doesn't deserve forgiveness. So, life's hard... way to make your daughter feel like shit.

  • @iamapersonsodontsue Haha sorry! My bad. I hate things like that too. Thank you for the correction. :)

  • She was still high for the anesthestics!

  • To those who say they binge and purge with no complications: Just because the results aren't happening as quickly for you as they do in a made-for-TV movie doesn't mean they won't happen over time. The results can take years to develop into serious problems. Educate yourself and confide in those who can help you stop the cycle of destructive and dangerous behavior. If you don't you could pay later with sickness or even your life. Will that be worth it? Call 1-800-931-2237 for assistance. ♥

  • is her name patch, pache, patche, or what?

  • @doolallyx I think it's patche but I just call her pat lol

  • The acting in this movie is soo bad, the main character is the worst!!

  • @emilyhale27 Her betrayal of a Bulimic is actually one of the most realistic performances I've ever seen in a film.

  • poor pache

  • I've been struggling for 5 years now and I'm still perfectly fineI binge and purge every day and yet I have't had any complications.

  • @shoponline831 I've been bulimic and anorexic for 2 years and I haven't had any problem either :)

  • @monilisbeth93 its nothing you should smile about ive been bulimic for a long time...this will happen eventually, dont hold your breathe.

  • @monilisbeth93 ITS NO SMILING MATTER ITS VERY SERIOUS

  • @monilisbeth93

yes that really is something to be proud of and smile about. *eyes*

  • @shoponline831 Some smokers don't get complications either. Doesn't mean it's not bad for you (and no, I'm not judging, I have an ed as well)

  • @shoponline831 you cant say you have any complications because when you are sick you are NOT realistic and you DONT realise what you have. I am sorry for you

  • @shoponline831 you may have done damage without even realising- go and get your bloods checked out - spesh youy potassium levels and liver

  • @shoponline831 quit lying to yourself, please, before it's too late to control the damage you're doing. there is no possibility that spewing acid and ridding yourself of essential micro-elements is harmless. no possibility.

  • good god kate made me cry :( .. i feel her pain i really do <3

  • I knew it! Isn't it strange how in these movies when the main character befriends a girl/woman who also has an eating disorder, the friend dies later on?

This movie, Dying to Dance, The Best Little Girl in the World, The Secret Life of Mary-Margaret: Portrait of a Bulimic, and A Secret Between Friends are all movies where the friend dies (and it usually motivates the main character to recover).

  • @starrbeatlesqueen

totally weird, as my eating disorder developed primarily from the grief of losing my best friend..

  • @starrbeatlesqueen hunger point, one sister dies :(

  • @starrbeatlesqueen and also Make It Or Break It. Kaylie's friend from treatment.

  • @starrbeatlesqueen Exactly, that's the point, it motivates the main character to recover. First the friend dies, then the main character relapses and THEN they recover. It's how these scripts/stories work and it keeps us entertained. Good movie :)

  • @starrbeatlesqueen omg thanks for spoiling the damn ending for me.

  • @starrbeatlesqueen ---I know. Like it's teaching us a lesson...

  • @starrbeatlesqueen It shows that you can really die from it...a lot of us who battle it don't think about it for the most part we just think about the common goal "perfection"

  • @GoneWithTheWind2013 Too bad "Hunger Point" was the only movie to demonstrate the more likely cause of death for someone with an eating disorder: suicide.

  • @starrbeatlesqueen

    Cliché-ridden but fun!!!

  • Great movie

  • What kind of reaction is that from the mother? Why wasn't she at Kate's bedside keeping vigil of some kind instead of worrying about "what she did to her husband?" She was a hot mess! Jack though, he was a good man.

  • her husband is so right! What an idiotic mother!!!!!!!!
