@royray42 I played with the Canadian Scottish, 3rd Infantry Division, CEF and was in the assault on Caen all day long. The refs never gave us any ground at all. They just didnt let the Axis players advance past the road. There were times when we made significant pushes into Caen, most notably when we were reinforced by our 6th Airborne. But our losses were always too high to actually hold any ground we gained.

The best push was with two tanks and they lasted little more than a couple minutes and still were only able to get into the first quarter of Caen. Um... When did you get into Caen? Never... Caen was in German hands the entire day and when the game was over. For the first time in the history of DDay. The German forces general came over and congratulated my team and the Splat Tag Army for the accomplishment. 716th ruled that day. It was our first time at DDay it was a blast.

@956cmk Youll need reliable gear. Be physically able to run alot. You can get friends but you will also meet alot of cool people. Hope you come to 2012!
@956cmk All that's needed is a paintball gun and the desire to take part. Some units require that you be at least 15 YO, but there are others which let you play as long as your 10. I would also suggest you bring a water carrier of some type, so you can avoid problems due to the heat.
@blackdemon12304197 They are hard to jam, but just it's hard to jam doens't mean it's not impossible to jam, make sure you have the right gear to maintain your gun, make sure your properly maintainging your gun, and it should work just fine, make sure to clean it externally and internally everyday.
@takeosucks , players can swap tickets for bags of paint, as well as refill their HPA/CO2 tanks at several on field locations (Dead Zones). These locations are all marked on maps which players can clip from the free Oklahoma D-Day Stars and Stripes Newspaper they receive when they sign in.
In this kinds of scenario games, what happens when you get hit? I can imagine that you get to go back and play again. Otherwise it'd really suck if you're out for the rest of the play. Do you have to go back to a specific location to be able to play again?

Some people take this really really seriouse. I have friends who play in this and were the supriem allied commander and he said people will even hack your cell phone, email, and radios to know your every move. I can't wait to paly next year. Go Rangers!!!1

@TheDarthvadorzz, typical temps average mid-upper 70s in mornings, rising to upper 80s-low 90s by mid day, coupled to extremely high humidity. Also expect one or two severe thunderstorm at some point during week leading up to event. NOTE: 2011 had no thunderstorms or rain, with clear skies and mid 80s game day.

@Trashjack101 , How can you compare two totally different events? LL lasts 2 days, D-Day runs 6. LL plays out over something like 20-30 acres, D-Day covers close to 700. Allied side has close to 1,700 players divided up into 17 divisions. In terms of tanks, D-Day had close to 30 between both sides, including a full scale repoduction of a tracked WW II German tank killer. Can't speak for how either side tracks their players at LL, but I can show you how Allied Army tracks theirs.

Im sorry, but airsoft is much better for scenario play. much more realism. go look up Operation Irene or Operation Lionclaws. Its so much better. paintball cant do realism. Play paintball for speedball not milsim

Airsoft is built around milsim and scenario play.

The only ground the Allied Commonwealth forces took was the ground given to them by the refs. The Germans held Caen ALL DAY LONG!

It is most commonly called a A-5 "Double Trouble", made up of two Tippman A-5s mounted to a frame with a rapid fire crank.
1 full crank will fire should hit the trigger 2-4 times. So you can get 30+ bps from it.

Im sorry, but airsoft is much better for scenario play. much more realism. go look up Operation Irene or Operation Lionclaws. Its so much better. paintball cant do realism. Play paintball for speedball not milsim

@SniperJoe101 alot of people dont play paintball for realism, they play for paintball, and woodsball is just fun. this is a scenario, but you can cheat way easy in airsoft

@laxm0nkey u can cheat just as easily in paintball....... wiping. and real airsoft players dont cheat. because if you cheat the game isnt fun. its an honor based system in which players that want to have fun follow. Im not trying to argue that airsoft is better than paintball. they are both different. but wen airsoft tries to pull off wat speedball does it fails. and when paintball tries to pull off what airsoft does it fails. Airsoft is built around milsim and scenario play.

@SniperJoe101 same way people can cheat in airsoft they can cheat in paintball and vice versa. i personally hate wipers. and majority of the people i know do to. just because there are cheaters doesn't mean the majority of the community are
