according to a National geographic show years ago, the mantis was known as the terror of the insect world. That episode said that the mantis's favorite delicacy is the Black Widow because it may not survive. I guess the Mantis is like the ultimate thrill seeker.

Stupid spider, should have bitten the mantis in in the abdomen first. The poison would kill the mantis in seconds.

this is one of only two videos i can find of a web-caught mantis taking out its spider. great discovery!!

I won a bet in1990 at rail yard when a mantis got caught in a spider's web and every one but me thought the spider was going to win. The mantis bit the spider in the abdomen and killed it. Needless to say I was happy and so were my pockets
