JB was able to bring more dramatic sound to this role than the more "heroic" voices. He did it though a lifetime of perfect singing.

Bravissimi--Jussi if only there were more recordings of how you could get into character like this live; Simionato wonderful even though, yes, this was just 6 years before retirement. She was a phenomenon.

Turiddu was the Bjorling' favorite role and wow!!! yes was it, Simionato gives brilliant retort although the voice past her prime
