this sounds a lot like my boss obd-3 pedal. but in my opinion, it gives a better low end sound as long as there is the treble on the amp eq is turned all the way down.

well, it also depends on how you have the pedal setup. i've go the balance and gain all the way up, the eq has the treble at 9 o'clock and the bass at about 1 o'clock. then i just toy with the level (volume) to what i want. but my amp has a very unique sound to it also, i haven't found an amp yet that sounds like it.

Well for the specific track i use a zoom 505II guitar processor and its an effect mixed with marchall jcm 800 distortion, chorus ensemle, compressor, parametric eq, closed cabinet, noise reduction and some delay made by me.. I also use guitar line 6 pod 2.o for recording as well as zoom g1u (the new model)

and for pedals i use a death metal distortion by digitech wich is an awesome for fuzz too! And another stompox by rocktron called zombie rectifier which is also very extreme rectified distortion. I asure you that all this works well for 5string bass so the choice is yours! T-rex is a very unique pedal also but to tell you the truth i dont know how it sound to a bass.. I will make a vid for the stompboxes if u like :-)

yeah if you're looking for a lead sound use it but if you're sticking to the usual role of the bass id keep away from over drive pedals made for guitar

Well i disagree..You can use guitar pedals and specifically overdrives/distortions/fuzzes on bass for more punchy and super distorted lead/rythm sound and for more boosted lows (or highs) on the usual ''clean'' role of a simple bassline..The choice is yours my friend jollywood999. Try them and see the result by yourself..

I see that You like playing on distortion bass. But remember about deepness tones of Bass guitar - they are usually not selective, deep and it`s not easy to hear each of sounds. When I playing bass with distortion I usually use thiner strings in my 5-string basses: I  didn`t use H,E,A,D,G but I prefer E,A,D,G,B. And in this way - I sure You - your distortion will be more selective and distinct. greets!
