بعيد عنك -ام كلثوم this is a beautiful old song originally sang by Um-Kalthoom it is a beautiful love song called (Ba'eed A'annak) means -distance from you -or- far from you. This version is played with modern beat & a young singer i belive it is (George Wasoof) am not sure of the singer here.
i have seen a lot of wonderul talented belly dancers but Mercedes Nieto -you pretty lady is simply the BEST .. oh, my i love how you dance ... i will continue to wath and learn from you
you are adorable!!!i wish i could dance like this, the movements are realy amazing...dont care bad comments, everyone see that u r perfect...and i also love the costume, pure beauty...
I totally agree with nasheeta9. If you say that it isn't enough good, please show that you can do it better. I think people who write negative comments to it, don't know what is bellydance about. I think bellydance involves many kind of dance styles so you can see other videos too but you shouldn't say that it's just shaking... I could show you a lot of "shaking vids" but please...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
the music is nice, and yes she can shake, but her arms and body movement just doesn't flow like it should, it seems like there is too much calculation and thought going into the dance, and her arms are just rigid and she doesn't sway well, just shakes.. it should come naturally and I don't feel it does here.. and I agree with the ballet influence comment..
"Like it should"... Who says how it "should" flow? Is there any rule out there saying how "should" somebody dance to an Oum Kalthoum song? I would be happy to read it :) Until that I will do my own interpretation. What was actually mostly imrovisation without any calculation :) Thanks for the comment, all the best, Mercedes
Yes, there does seem a ballet influence, not only in the (minmal) kicks, but even more in the formal stage presentation, and the form-line stress. Very interesting balance between vigorous - almost demonstration - moves, and the static commited emotional attitude. She would make a good wife & even better mother, this is what she conveys, dignity & social leadership in woman's role. Not cloying at all.
I think that she doesn't know what is song about,I don't feel her...This is very slow and beautiful song, her movements should be also slow, soft, not so hard, she doesn't express this song right.... I have seen Randa dancing also on this song, but it's still amazing and you can feel her!!Even if she has this strong movements..
Lovely dancer, but there is still a lot of lifting one leg and kicking. It seems to be a characteristic of the Hungarian belly dance scene - perhaps a spin off from the ballet.
