  • Petro Canada across the street?

  • @GENERAL1002 NO. This was on Dixie Rd. Petro Canada is on the opposite end of runway.

  • What happened to the airbus a340? Did Air Canada replace them?

  • @MrSheen134

not sure but i think they are rare and only used for long flights.

  • @LoveAviation

they are long gone from the fleet

  • @AvcamProductions

yes this video is 4 years old

  • @LoveAviation they retired them go on wikipedia and type in air canada.

  • @bieberhater555 it is a video from january 2007

  • @LoveAviation dude. im not blind

  • @bieberhater555 you must be because you are telling me what has been discussed months ago. scrolling down to see the list of comments does help sometimes.

  • @LoveAviation w.e.

  • @MrSheen134 air canada replaced these with the 777-300's

  • @MrSheen134 AirAsia X took over it..

  • @MrSheen134 AirAsia X took over them.

  • @MrSheen134 they replaced them with the 777-300 they gave all their a 340 to Cathay pacific they did not keep them cause of the maintenance cost.

  • wow - great video, it's almost identical in closeness to a spot near Sydney airport alongside a huge mangrove reserve. like the one show, nothing illegal about taking a photo of a plane landing! (certainly not in Australia).

  • @777fsx200 Nope, they were replaced by the aircraft in your registered name, the 777. Also, the 767-300s and A330's filled in some gaps.

  • How were you able to film this without getting in trouble or arrested by airport police in light of all the post-9/11 security at and near airport facilities? Nice video!

  • @kenpalmer1965

I guess i take chances? no but really i pulled in and parked by a gate and it was quick. we just waited for one or 2 planes and left. And in Canada they are not as paranoid about filming planes as in USA.

  • @kenpalmer1965 hes on public property aswell

  • ooww boy i suffered this some months ago ! !

  • hey where were you when you were filming this?? by the way i sit at dixon road and watch them there never really get any big planes tho

  • @psycho2596

this was on dixie rd not dixon.

  • @LoveAviation

    Yep Dixie Rd.

  • These things are LOOONNGGGGGGG! I've been on one form Germany to Nigeria!

  • I remember in and around 2004 when I used to go watch planes landing there, it was such a rush to have the 747s go right above your head. Seeing them come in, from the distance, it felt like they where going to land right on top of you. I really miss all the 747s they are an endangered species these days. Such a shame.

  • @TheTurbinator ik the 747 is awesome

  • Is the Air Canada A340 still operating?

  • Wow!

  • kool

  • i was there last sunday!!!!!!

  • Nice 5*****

  • @TrainSounds gone 6 years ago now

  • I am from the USA and I never see Air Canada's heavies.

  • @TrainSounds im from canada and never see american heavies:P

  • They got retired, I think.

  • an angle aka wind correction hahaha

  • what? I said crosswind

  • i was jus sayin i heard someone say he was comin in on an angle. must not have been you haha my bad

  • my cousins son was filming while i was taking pics.

  • is your family polish ?

  • yes

  • this is a loud plane!

  • That is the longest plane in the world!

  • I thought that was A340-600.................

  • SWEET!!!

  • I love airplanes!!!

  • yep. same here!

  • Is Air Canada still flying the A340 , i heared they replaced them with 777,s

  • im not sure. i only go to toronto once a year but i dont remember if i seen the air canada a340 when i was there last january.

  • Oh, I heared they replaced their old 777 for A340

  • I heard it was the other way around! 777s are also ginormous though!

  • NEVER USE 777 AND OLD IN THE SAME SENTENCE lol i'm just kidding

  • Not yet, now is 777

  • I love there new paint job

  • It's funny because I seem to like their old paint job better, akthough the new one is alright

  • The old paint job looks better on a couple of there aircraft

  • Yeah that's true, I liked their 767 with the old paint job

  • Sweet Vid! and nice spot, that plane was really well captured!

  • im in mississauga now and will be here untill about jan 10 so i will try to go and film some planes with my cheap camera.

  • here's how it goes cathay p comes between 5 and 630 fed-x comes between 630 and 730 and korean air comes between 800 and 930 on thursday sometimes saturdays and sundays but fed-x doesnt come on saturdays

  • thats the best spot for landings and also the other side by the wendys is good. Theres also a place by Fedex

  • im not in canada that often but when i do come ill try to come there again.

  • I want to do this for the Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Portland. I went to do it last week, but I barely got there on approach, so I didn't have quite enough time to get directly below it, and they flew an A330 that day instead.

  • is that by the wendy's

  • no this was on the other side of the runway on dixie rd.

  • Amazing man you got lucky

  • Awesome. I must ask what kind of camera do you use? 3CCD I assume.

  • it was a sony widescreen camera. i dont know the model but it was around 1100$ when this video was taken. records to a built in harddrive and transfers easy to the computer in mpg format.

  • I've seen bigger jets than that. Where I live the cargo jet that brings supplies to our town is way bigger than a 380 and it's 300 feet above my house on approach And him landing on an an angle, that's called a crosswind landing ya glue bag!

  • thank you for posting this vid. its great. i'm supporting everybody who's putting plane videos because i'm a kid dreaming and on my way to be apilot. its your videos that inspire me.

  • Thank you. glad you enjoyed it. if i had a video cam or digital cam that does videos i would post more.

  • My dad is a pilot and he flys air canada boeing 777-300 i either fly first class or jump seat in the cockpit

  • cool i'm starting regional flying at 21 then after five years i'll be flying an a330

  • Yeah i am joining the Canadian air force when i turn 19 then after getting my pilots licence i am going in to fly Air Canada A340

  • you are so lucky, I want to be a pilot for the B777, and i would love to sit in the jumpseat. your a lucky kid.

  • yeah i am lucky i always ask my dad if i can land the plane but ahhh... well u know.

i dont see my dad very often, sence the world is low and in need of pilot they dont have meny pilots they are all young or retired so he is always doing the long distance flight.

Yeaterday, he just got back, he did a flight from Toronto to abu dhabi i think thats how to speel it. any ways he was at this flight for 26 hours flying it there and back 2 times.

  • yea, i would land the plane even know it might be fun, something could go wrong... but long distant flights are fun, you get to sleep most of the time :) 26 hours WOW! and hey if you have any pictures could you let me see?? thanks man.

  • shure.. maybe tomorrow ill take some i am going with my dad for a flight to Bermuda so ill take some there.

  • Oh, ok thanks man. Have a nice flight and thanks for the pics, send a PM to me and i will give you my email. thanks

  • i want to be a pilot of a dc-10

  • for what airline, and thats an old aircraft, for UPS or something?

  • if it still exists...i would fly for swissair because of their safety record

  • dont do it on there saftey record. base what airline you want to fly for, for the routes, the pay, the way they treat you and etc. well i cant change your mind but swissair is a good airline.

  • well the things you said also enqludes on my decision but aslong as i fly with a good airline i'm good!

  • same here, im still not sure what airline im going to fly for! lol. but i konw what plane.

  • safety record is QANTAS

  • here in new jersey fedex uses dc-10s a lot. they have been upgraded and maintained regularly

  • yea, FedEx flys the MD11 here to Orlando all the time and once in awhile a DC10

  • maybe they are md-11s. either way almost the same plane.

  • i really don't think anyone that goes out with a video camera or photo camera is out there looking forward to a disaster. almost all the air disasters that were ever caught on video were possible because of someone's interest in airplanes or aviation not in airplane crashes or explosions or whatever. unless you are a airport security camera or filming from area51 where they test new flying things it is very unlikely that crashes will happen for you.

  • people don't film planes landing coz they want to see a crash you idiot! us plane enthusiusts like to film it just because we like planes simple as that! in a case like this it is cool to see a good pilot who can handle a crosswind. for a real plane lover you could watch planes land all day and be happy so "sesti21" and "Anton1941" goi lick my sack! haha

  • yeah wtf lol

  • you are so stupid anton1941 he doesn't fil it in case it crashed so he can make money he likes aviation, me too! what an idiot.

  • I think these guys who film planes at random hope for some thing "sensational" to happen, so that they say they are the ones who filmed it.. or make money of it.

I hope i never see a plane crash in my life, or be in one

  • WTF?

  • yeah thats what i was thinking to they just there random??ppl r like terrioust lol??

  • yeah... they film every damn plane hoping they capture on camera something truly 'sensational' that will make the news

  • WTF again? i hope you aren't serious.

  • how old are you?

  • im 35

  • thats like saying you film cars or motorways to see cars crash or kids watch buses to see them crash.

  • pas mal.

    not bad.....

  • Sorry, folks....that was hardly a crosswind landing.

I've seen hundreds of them, and the best are:

    "caiosg" with "KLM extreme landing",

    "undeaddreadlord91" with "british EGLL",

    "kristinnj" with "scary airbus", and

    "drifterb3" with "trouble landing".

    Check them out....you'll be amazed.

  • damn trouble landing was scary

  • hardly a crosswind

  • hardly you are normal

  • Thats a crosswind landing.

  • you guys were near tim hortons and wendy's good spot

  • no. that was on the other side of that runway.

  • sure does

  • How many passengers and crew does that freakin' thing carry? Bet it gives a sweet ride, though.

  • where is that

  • Dixie Road south of Derry Road I believe.

Another good spot is Airport road south of Derry Road (with a timmies and wendys!!!), or the south side of Derry road near Torbram.

  • That was cool. I'll bet that was so loud. Im gonna listen to this again with the speakers cranked and the bass way up to replicate how awesome it was in real life.

  • ya it was kinda loud but not too bad. the gust of wind that followed the plane was cool too.

  • what a bird, nice video!

  • amazing ... next time try the other side of the street =D

  • 2 problems. #1 there may not be a next time cuz my cousins son returned the video camera a few days after xmas. #2 I live in New Jersey and I dont have a cam either. It was a nice cam though but expensive (900$ Canadian). That cam recorded in widescreen native and it had a 60gig harddrive in it.

  • u got some balls sonnay!

  • amazing video, that things a monster!

  • So Sweet.
