  • Ive had acne off and on since I was 12...I had severe acne when I was 13-15, and I remember always avoiding looking in the mirror because I was so ashamed of how I looked. I'm 17 now, and thanks to my doctor and my dad (who always encouraged me to eat more healthy) my acne has gone down quite a bit. My skin is smooth, were as four/five years ago there wasn't a smooth spot to be found anywhere on my face.

  • You are so brave to have shown us your (true) self at such a vulnerable state. I admire that, because my skin is literally 10x worse than yours (at its worst). I'm a woman of color and I suffer from severe hyperpigmentation (dark spots) ALL over my face. Hopefully by doing a Healthy Skin Diet customized to my personal needs I can have that beautiful, healthy, glowing radiant skin, too ^_^

  • hi live in australia tooo, and i just want to share with you the moo goo website ( its actually where i discovered the book)ithey just sell natural and safe skin care products and give you some really good tips on skincare and they do it with so much love, like they actually care not just there aim to sell there products but educate you too so thats always good, check it out!! p.s your a lovely person.

  • I have horrible acne and i'm a vegetarian and i'm 19! We have a lot in common except you don't have acne anymore! Congrats! I'm going to do some research on that book and see if that's something I would be interested in. Thanks so much for your inspiration. You are a beautiful person!

  • I find when I eat lots of fruits and vegetables along with drinking lots of water my skin clears up. This is awesome :) You're very inspiring it really worked!

  • Hey, I have acne. It's not bad. Mild. A pimple here and there, and a few scars. You're skin looks really great, and it has come a long way. You should be proud. Even when you had acne, you should always feel confident. You are beautiful either way, and you should not be ashamed to show your skin without makeup, and that goes for every woman and man! :)

  • Wow, this kind of diet made such a huge difference to your skin! I wish I could do it too, but not a single one of the book stores here in Germany has this book. Could you please just tell me the very basics of this concept ? That would be so great :)

  • I too have acne prone skin. I have to commend you for how open you are with sharing what is to me, a very difficult topic to talk about. Not to mention share pictures to the world with.   • I really want to try this diet, (my acne isn't as bad as yours was, but i still understand what you say) But i feel like i wouldn't be able to get the ingredients i would need. Any advice on how to make it easier to get them??

  • hey i have a question :) i don't have that much acne anymore i mean it looks actually pretty good with make up on but parts of my face are really red especially around my nose. what can i do against it?

  • redness is quite common for alot of people and I still get areas of redness around my nose and chin - but a good way to counteract the redness is to blend a little green toned concealer to the skin before you apply regular concealer and that can minimise the appearance.

  • I only really know of this one i.e the Healthy Skin Diet by Karen Fischer, but I also love GirlForce which has a combo of beauty, diet, health and excersise tips!

  • I was actually going to do a fun video on my walks/excersise routine so that's definately on the cards!

    But nothing major really just consistent 30 minute walks every morning :)

    Basically I am just going to continue eating as healthy as possible, I'm not perfect but I am going to really try and eat as balanced and as unprocessed foods as possible :)

  • Wow I've never met someone with the same sort of pimples as me and in the EXACT same places. Did you find one side of your face was more prone than the other? I change my pillowcase constantly in case that's what it is.

    That took a lot of guts to show us those photos and I think you've given hope to a lot of people out there.

    Haha I know it's so strange I tend to get more spots on the left side of my face so weird.. and I don't sleep on a particular side with my pillow case so I have no idea why haha.

    I'm getting married in November, and although I don't have bad acne, I do suffer breakouts.... and I'm 27. It's definitely something I will look into.

  • Honestly it's a really educational and insightful book - the author Karen is super down to earth.

    A very enjoyable yet informative read - and if your a little unsure just borrow it from the library :)

    Just a quick question, do you find that your skin still reacts 'hormonally' i.e. you get worse breakouts once a month? Or has the diet helped to reduce that?

  • I've never really had that issue with that time of the month - I think for me particularly stress and feeling down effects me skin.. oh and the occasional lolly binge.. but not so much anymore :)

  • omg you skin look good. I have been changing my diet eating better ( more fruit and vegatable not eating process stuff) fo 3 month now. everyone is saying my skin looks alot a bit better and scar are healing looking nomal

  • Do you still take flaxseed oil? How you find it impacts your metabolism?

  • I still do take flaxseed oil - I love it.. its got such a nourishing nutty flavour - I think it's super moisturising from the inside out more than having an effect on the metabolism :)
