A wonderful document about two legend of rock!. Y después hay que andar escuchando estupideces de Keith Richards, hablando mal de un muerto que no se puede defender. Acusando a Brian de drogadicto y de gélido, siendo él mismo un drogadicto durante casi toda su vida. Que feo lo del libro de Keith!
awsome stuff..Strange daze have found us..Sometimes i Wonder did the Stones have Brian killed, and did Hendrixs manager do him in...One thing is certain, time will go by and one day WE WIL ALL MEET OUR MAKER in one form or another..
Is he actually burning his guitar @ 1:32? If so, I think it's stupid; as what does it show other than ingratitude for a fine instrument that many hours of fabulous craftsmanship went into creating it.
If I'm not mistaken, I think that Who drummer also did similar stupid things with his drum kit.
@guyNbluejeans Hendrix said that he wanted to send his love to everyone in the crowd individually, but because this wasn't possible, he would show his appreciation for the crowd by ceremonially destroying something he cared about. Pete Townsend regularly trashed his guitar because he knew the crowds loved it. Granted, the first time, he accidentally broke his guitar on the Marquee's low ceiling, and got pissed when it seemed like no one noticed that he broke his favorite guitar. Epic moments...
I don't think it's that great. At least I got to her my favorite Stone singing. I mean this is just not the type of music I like. The musicians are great,
cant hear much sitar !!and really lets be serious ,,ravi shanker and other great masters "play" the sitar,,, rock guitarists fiddle around with the sitar,
so forgive my ignorance....mick stole everything he knows from BRIAN,THE ORIGINAL ROLLING STONE....PAPA WOULD BE PROUD....OH WAIT,,,,MAYBE,,,,,.....GOD REST YOU, BRIAN......
man i have always loved this track...when i heard the first Jesus and Mary Chain record I always hoped a band like it would come along and do it justice and make a new audience aware...
Why is this always mislabled. Brian Jones played bass on this not Sitar. The sitar is Dave Mason. Its mentioned in two different Hendrix biographys i've read, yet everbody on the web seems to have it assways
It is Dave Mason on sitar. The music was composed by Hendrix. In the undoctored(instrumental) version "Little One"(on the box set "West Coast Seattle Boy"), Hendrix is on guitar & bass, Mason on Sitar & Mitchell on drums. In the doctored version(on "Noel Redding-The Experience Sessions") Noel Redding added(in 1987) lyrics & vocals and replaces Hendrix's bass playing. That version is titled "There Ain't Nothing Wrong With That". And in that version, the writing is credited to Noel.
The title is "There Ain't Nothing Wrong (with that)". This is a cool little jam with an allstar lineup that took place right after Monterrey 1967. Here's the lineup:
@ABFablover His names on the video geezer! Its Brian Jones - founder member of the Rolling Stones. Theres an instrumental version 9 mins long which is just as good if not better. By the way , Brian Jones died a young man just like Jimmy. Would they be as revered if they were still about? or is that why we revere them so much.
@sunkenbumnuts I think we revere them because they died young and idealized. If they were alive today, I like to think they'd be acting like dignified elder statesmen of rock and roll, but look at the ones who did survive. They're 60-somethings still trying to be teenagers.
@56dinosaur thanks for pointing that track out.. ive been trying to find a song with Jones' vocals! however, you cant really hear him there.. jagger's voice overpowers... is there any other song where u can hear jones singing?
@56dinosaur try 'come on' he has backing vocals there aswell. i actually really like Jones' voice. they should have included him in more of their rhythm and blues songs!!
@FlapJack2206 That's Noel Redding who wrote the lyrics and added the bass part in 1988 after Chas Chandler requested him to do so. It can be found on the Noel Redding: The Experience Sessions CD. The line-up according to the liner notes;
The 1967 recording session:
Jimi Hendrix - guitar
Dave Mason - sitar
Mitch Mitchell - drums
1988 recording session:
Noel Redding - bass, lead vocals.
It doesn't seem to have any Brian Jones involvement here.
@sunkenbumnuts Would they still be revered? Of course, both were hugely talented. I think Hendrix would have got his shit together had he lived, less partying, better music. Jones I'm not too sure. Don't know that much about him.
@elmers06 You idiot- you've misconstrued what I meant completely. Better music as meaning he would have contributed more great music than what is being produced now by much lesser talents. Sorry it wasn't clear to you sir. OK now, Mr hyper?
Sorry to disappoint all of you, but the indian instrumentation on "Little One" is by Dave Mason, and Mason also provides some of the indian instrumentation on The Rolling Stones' "Street Fighting Man" as well. Brian Jones' only definite appearance on a Jimi Hendrix record was percussion on "All Along The Watchtower".
BRIAN JONES ISN'T EVEN ON THIS TRACK....
THE ONLY TRACK BRIAN WAS ON WAS A EARLIER TAKE OF 'WATCHTOWER'
IT'S JUST DAVE MASON, MITCH MITCHELL, & HENDRIX
