@staffy58 "just like he takes credit for writing songs when he didnt." bahahaha, that was a storyline from his 1991-1993 tv series "All Together Now" you ning-nong =P
if this is john english then he is either pissed or stoned cause the fukin loser is way out of tune n he leaves out half the words wat a fukin shity song take this crap of youtube it is a descrace
What's sad about all the comments here about this clip is that it actually isn't the Foster Brothers. Well it's some of them, but only 3 of the 6. The guitar player's name on the left is Rodney Auld (who now plays in a band called Jonahs Road), the drummer's name (forgive me Margie) is Scott MacDonald (I think). Stretch, Jon and Deaky are the only 'Fosters' in the clip. Sorry to burst your bubble :)
john english and the foster bros are the sound track to my life. beating the boards recently re released is one of the greatest australian live recordings ever do it again nick........never ever thought that this clip would become a poghunters forum,,,, ha ha ,,,,, reveal yourself staffy,,,, jimmy g
went and saw the old black eyed pom,a frw years ago.saw him sing love has power.then at the end of it said he wrote it.like hell he did.you can thank the dallimore bros for that one big fella.......poghunters 4 ever.
did u know that Jon English wrote this about an encounter with a hitchhiker,he picked her up and after a while he looked around to see she was no longer there. He looked around and then went to the address she had given him to find an elderly woman. "Excuse me Miss,I picked up a young woman who gave me ur address" the woman looked angry and he later discovered he had picked up the ghost of her daughter. TRUE STORY
no it isnt a true story. it's an urban myth. Jon English left the UK before he was 12 years old and has lived in Australia ever since. I've worked for Jon for many years in his road crew and he often laughs about the mystery surrounding this 'true' story. In the live shows he explains that his dad had sent the newspaper story to Jon in Australia... but seeing as both his mum and dad were in Australia at the time.. well you get the picture :)
And I thought my video-ing was bad .....but hey ....an awesome artist topped off by a great song. Thanks for sharing. I wish I knew how to edit my tapes
Awesome song! People, the lyrics are worth looking up - a bit hard to hear clearly on this recording...but keep listening as the band really rocks after the halfway mark!
Sam, well done recording this (March 2008) - it was great sharing yet another Jon English and the Foster Brothers show with you!
Jon, you are such a talent - we always enjoy your shows!
Hope to see you again soon!
