hey. I have many problems with my MacBook. One of them is that man Apps I download will download properly but when is time to use them they will automatically shut down ore will not work properly. Some examples are VLC, eyetv, photo shop ore toast.
Kind of a white/green florescent fried look.. (for lack of a better way to describe it). If I put it in sleep mode with the power button then it snaps back to the way it's suppose to look.
thats really really really bad. have you tried replacing your video cable? checked the video card drivers? this is a much worse problem then the other complaints.
Brought it to the mac center ehere they opened everything. They said my screen + my motherboard was broken. And it would cost me 1700€ to fix it. I did not wanna do this so I bought an I mac wich was much cheaper. I took my powerbook back home too for the children to chat on and download music........t.b.f.
..... It was still working (only those strange colors on the screen and all those little vertical lines)
Then after putting some files from the powerbook via bluetooth over to the I-mac I suddenly realised that the screen of the powerbook was in perfect condition. Can anybody explaim this to me??? And why did they tell me at the mac store that I had to replace everything!? I do not trust this store anymore. But what was wrong with my powerbook??
Been putting up with this problem for over a year now. It's got the Apple Care Plan on it but I'd hate to be (even days) without my iMac..!! I have a feeling the problem isn't hardware based since killing the power and rebooting puts all right again.
don't second guess yourself it is hardware. it's definatlly the display you said yourself it doesnt come up in a screen shot which proves its not software. if you plug in a second display it will never do that because the issue is with the lcd itself. rebooting only helps because it shuts off the display and turns it back on again.
This is normal... FOR A IM

Maybe it's getting interference. Is it near a microwave or radio or something?
