I truly love reading, but I am dyslexic. It can take me twice as long or longer to processs what i'm reading. But I have now set myself a chalnge to read 1 book a fortnight.
What an inspiration!!! No idea how I came to watch this but I'm an adult who doesnt read. I'm going to get a book in the morning and start working towards a book a week. Thank you!
20 to 30 pages an hour? I never realized that was the average. I am an avid reader (25 books so far this year) I also read fast apparently I timed it at around 115 pages an hour not speed reading. The books I read usually average around 800 pages. My goal this year is 75 or so books hope fully more! Good vid though. Enjoy your reading
i am an extremely slow reader. before i got this laptop (that i am currently on and have been on for a while today) i would happily fill every spare moment with reading and even that didn't help my number of books lol. i have finished a lot of books and enjoy reading a lot, but this is too hard. however i do need to start back reading again so thanks for the reminder i will get back to it. btw i would love a library like you have :) it looks like a book lovers paradise lol :) at least to me
ive really had the urge to start reading more books lately, and the first book i read since then, i was so into it, that i spent 8 hours reading it, and i got through half the book! haha and right now im reading the count of monte cristo :)
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is just pick it up. A lot of times I'm not motivated to read but suddenly once I start and get past the initial "should I" phase I find that I'm cranking page after page.
Reading: "It just feeds the machine in so many ways" -Junot Diaz
i dont like to read because i get distracted very easily and i read slow so i get bored fast haha...but my g/f if left alone can read 4-5 books a week...she's a machine
Do comic books count? Not really into comic books, but i am interested in a series thats coming out (Charmed)...Thanks for the advice...sometimes i look at a book with 500 pages or 600...im thinking this will take months...but the way u break it down is awesome...i know i can do it in less time and benefit...plus i use to study in the theater go there always with time to spare skip the snacks study until movie starts...u are very well read i can tell your words flow smooth and u articulate well
I wish I had the time, and believe me I want to read. I come home from a 13 hour work day, and just go lay in the bed, and my eyes shut and adhere. I bought 10 books at borders last month and haven't touched one yet. I stare at these books and imagine how wonderful they must be as I fall asleep.
Cutting down on TV to read more is great advice - but the idea that you should fill every little break or pause in your day with a few pages would absolutely kill the pleasure I take in reading. Too much like a chore that has to get done. I'd much rather set aside a stretch of time at the end of the day that I can really get into reading - but I'm mostly a non-fiction reader. It's probably better advice for fiction readers who are looking for something to take them out of the moment.
Great advice! I've collected hundreds of antique books from estate sales. I'm not on par with 50 a year, but I would like to start reading more than I have been.
What do you think about kindle. Is that ok ?

I love to read. I read a lot of "Tintin". They're comics, but the most entertaining stories I have ever read.
