Wow, very cool! I'm trying to get into pole fishing for carp, but just wonder if a rod and line without a reel could handle large carp. So, what lb test of line were u using?

Maybe just an opinion but think pole fishing for anything tougher than a bream is wrong. They had have the give to run and just rip their mouths? Am I incorrect?

@CastAirLead the elastic cushions it, i've never damaged a carps mouth while pole fishing, but onn a carp rod i have been guilty of a little blood on some occasions.

Yeh ive fished both and reguarlly fosh woodlands. Both very nice places to fish.

i had 39lb of carp=7 carp out of the margins in my 10 hour match
