@alexzivo soooo all of that happened to you? really? where did you live when you "lived" in Detroit? what neighborhood? I have trouble believing when I've lived here my whole life, in the "hood" btw, and NOTHING has ever happened to me. You sound just like the rest of these idiots making up some bs so you feel like you can have a reason to rant and rave about a city you don't live in

@alexzivo I appreciate the opinion, and I understand where you're coming from, but that's a gross generalization, and I don't think you can ever call the growth of young affluent people in Detroit a bad thing. I understand fear of gentrification maybe, but these people often do have great empathy for Detroit's people and want to help Detroit grow. A lot of times that's why they're there. Check out DetroitLives! (google it). It's a great blog about Detroit by a 'hipster' who lives in the city.
Yes, everything is there, restaurants, cofee shops, stores, etc -- the building is next to Wayne State Univ campus. In fact it was built on a former parking lot of the campus. The construction site footage was showing only the building itself, the area around it is not in construction.
It still looks to be very much under construction. Is anything about to open? Utrecht? Radio Shack? Coffee shop? Anything else? Will there be a restaurant? THX

Great neighborhood, great location. I like the old-style brick kind buildings better, though.
