@krikster1 no. Not all gypsies are the same tho. If you're a Russian Gypsie, chances are you are more caucasian than lets say a gypsie in India. Gypsies live all over the world. For example in this region: not just in Romania, but in Hungary also, and because I am a folk-dancer, I can say, that Romanian dances are totally different from the gypsy dance, and I can say the same about Hungarian dances. For example in Transylvania in some areas the hungarian dances and the romanian dances are similar, (but not the same also!!!), but I think the gypsies has a totally different and particular dance and culture from the other!

They used to live just south of Lebanon but sometime during ancient biblical days, they left. Or they were taken into captivity with the other 10 northern tribes and later they dispersed through Europe and beyond.

Jews along with Arabs and other people from Chaldean empire are closer related to Norwegians and make up the IJ haplogroup Y DNA subgroup. You are cosmical at your comment. Romani are made up of two main Y DNA haplogroups - R1a1 & H1a1. Both from NW INdia.

@jacobfkarlsson count in Panjabi (elh, Du, Den, Jhar, Panch) or Rajastani (Ekh, Du, Then, Jhar, Panch) and then compare to Romani (Ekh, Dui, Trin, Shtar, Panch) and straight away it is clear that even though the Romani left India in 1026ad they have kept their language. Another simple sentence such as Give me water in Panjabi (de mihno pahni) is again identifiable to Romani (de mand pahni). You have a Phd? Your my hero, lol

One is a mixture from the Near East & is from 3 x Y Hg DNA strains.1st = H1a, 2nd = K, 3rd = J (from Chaldean inc. Jewish and Arabic). The other heritage is from central Asia & is all part of the Y DNA hg = R. The 1st wave is R2& is found in mostly higher castes of Hindus such as Brahmin. Then is R1a from Saka (Scythians). Also R1b from Brits

@jacobfkarlsson In Iran there was the major Elamite kingdom which was centered in SW Iran prior to Persians and Medes invading from the NE. The Elamite language is believed to be related to the original Dravidian languages of Indian prior to Indo-Aryan languages such as Persian (farsi etc) & Sanskrit (which Hindi, Panjabi etc come from) got introduced. No-one knows the Elamite DNA but it is possible it could have been H or K.

@IAmSoRich Aryan is not even a word meaning race but is from the Indo-Iranian word "Arya" meaning "Noble, Honorable, Upright, Godly etc". The same word exists in the German language but is spelled "Ehre" which is where the English word Honor derives. Also in Germanic languages is the word "Earl" (also spelt Jarl & pronounced as Yarl). In the Romani the word exists as Rai which derives directly from Arya as Romani unlike Europeans speak Sanskrit via a Rajasthani & Panjabi regional prakrit.

Yea Romanians are not gypsies folks. I lived in Barcelona and there are gypsies there as well. They are all over the world and they originated in the middle east area and were a migrant type culture and different tribes of them went to different areas of the world like all the rest of us and make up a mix of people anymore. We are all mixed in this day and time. So get over the whole pure blood fantasy little nazi wannabes.

@krikster1 no. Not all gypsies are the same tho. If you're a Russian Gypsie, chances are you are more caucasian than lets say a gypsie in India. You're right about the whole , " nonesense of being a pure breed" but some gene pools dominate according to where you're from. Spanish gypsies are also a good example of non-pure breed..some come out tan as charcole, but with amazing gren eyes, and others are more fair skin than others..that's thanks to the celtic and iberric gene pool.

All I'm saying is that we are completely different people with completely different ways of life, culture exchange is happening all over the world, but while globalization is in process, cultures keep their roots until extinction, look at native Americans for example, while they are fewer, their culture different, same goes for african-americans and americans.
So once again, our cultures have nothing common.
