Fix broken ATV recoil starter Part 1

your lucky, I ride motorbicycle/moped bicycle conversion kits. these recoil starters are all cheap plastic crap. I learned this the hard way pull the beast off ended up breaking some plastic and had to shell out a few bucks for the whole assembly.

i do but the same thing happens. its my first atv its used i got it from my friends dad he gave it to me and said the carb needs to be cleand. but i think it has something else wrong wit it

carb even after 2 years wont get dirty, dont even try to clean it, no point, i had the same problem recently. There is problem with ur throttle, there is a switch in it, once 2 contacts touch u get short circuit and it shuts down the engine, try to play with the throttle adjuster , make it tighter.. or if you have time on your hands, take it apart and make sure there is clearance between the 2 contacts..

i did and there fine it goes but realy slow and if i give it more gas it dies. it also takes forever to start it

@juggalo6106 adjust your CARBURATOR the jet screw underneathe that u can see twist that in all the way then turn back three times (do not torque down it will break tip of jet) same problems with my atc

oh and dont forget to put in in neutral if its manual, or if its automatic put it in air , cuz it might take off if its stuck in gear after u gas it,

I say ATV so more people can relate. Pull starter for any ATV/ATC is basically the same. I also consider a 3 wheeler an ATV, it is a vehicle after all, even though it is of the 3 wheel variety.

i have the same pull start for my little 110 it broke,this helped alot,but i am having trouble getting that damn c washer clamp thingy back on
