Somehow this music makes me think of Lovecraft's Deep Ones, rising from their underwater cities to claim the sacrifices to Lord Dagon... This is a magnificent band.
Though you can interpret as you wish, their first album was an "unfinished" telling of Moby Dick, and so this album would in theory be the continuation of the Moby Dick story.
@Israelpwn I understand that =) It's just the sense of abyssal hopelessness woven by this music would work well with Lovecraft's cosmic horror as well.
That I can work with. Never got to reading Lovecraft (though I should - how does anyone create a character like Cthulu?).
Also, Mastodon did this book no justice. Ahab, however....makes me want to read this whole thing in 1 sitting (with this soundtrack, of course!) after my exams are over.
